Rating: Summary: lets put it this way... Review: Okay, let's put it this way- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire kicks- well, you know what. I don't know why I'm writing this but for those of you who haven't even started reading Harry Potter, all I can say is your crazy! If you think this is just another book that is totally boring and unoriginal, you are SO wrong. Here's what happens in this book: there's a Quidditch World Cup (yep, it's a wizard sport) where the Mark of the dark lord Voldemort appears. Wizards are suspecting he will return to power again. Then the Triwizard Competition arrives at Hogwarts (the wizarding school that Harry attends) and Harry mysteriously becomes the FOURTH champion. There's a Yule Ball too, and some certain crushes surface. Harry fights dragons, merpeople, and a maze where he is lead to Voldemort. Then we find that someone is not who he seems and someone dies...cool huh? well, i don't want to give out the end cuz that takes all the fun out of reading the book. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: When is the 5th Book due to be released? Review: I am well into my 30's and I love these books. I have read all four of them I am currently re-reading them to my soon to be 9 year old son who cannot wait until I read him the next chapter. Please tell me when the next book is due to be release?
Rating: Summary: Good read - but disappointing Review: I read the other Harry Potter books and I think they've been going downhill after the 1st one. This one was fun to read but the author ends up pulling too many rabbits out of her hat. Characters appear in the very end who were long since dead, and she uses too many twists for an excellent read. It is apparent that this book is just a setup for the next one. If you like a book that's self contained with finality in the end - this isn't it.
Rating: Summary: It is time for some people to GROW UP! Review: I am sitting here in front of my computer browsing through some of the reviews of HP4 and something jumps out at me. The kids who have written reviews all have it right. If you have not read HP (and I mean all of them), you really should not be criticizing them. The books are FANTASY. They are not meant to be realistic, I mean come on folks. The idea that these books are putting heathen ideas in kids heads are just plain stupid. J.K. Rowling has done a superb job in carrying on the outstanding job she has done with HP 1,2, and 3. A great read not to be missed by anyone (even if they are Christian!).
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK YET! Review: What can I say? I am ninteen years old and I am a Harry Potter addict. J.k Rowling does a wonderful job with goblet of fire, the pages just fly by! Great for kids as well as for adults! I recommend it to anyone!

Rating: Summary: The Empire Strikes Back Review: Okay, so my title is a cheap attempt at bringing over Star Wars' fanatics, but anyone reading the Harry Potter series has to notice some similarities. But, enough about that. Book four is here, and once again, my three girls went into a deep state of Pottermania, and there is no vaccine for that. I've checked. My whole family enjoys reading the series, as it truly is great family entertainment.Once again, we find Harry at the his aunt and uncle's home, but this time, he is picked up by the Weasleys, and taken to the Quidditch World Cup, the Super Bowl of the wizard world. After the match, the dark mark of Lord Voldermont is seen in the sky, and wizards panic everywhere. Back at Hogwarts, Harry is mysteriously entered into the Triwizard Tournament, and he is suddenly forced to compete in highly dangerous tasks for the honor of his school. The action throughout the book is quite intense, and the excellent writing makes it really difficult to put it down. I turned pages so quickly that I didn't even notice the 737 pages. All of the regulars are back, and some interesting new ones are added in quite nicely. In the Goblet of Fire, we finally meet Voldermont face to face, as he tries once again to bring Harry to an untimely death. Slowly, Voldermont is gathering up his supporters, setting up the upcomming fifth book quite nicely. The classic conflict of good vs. evil is sensationally defined, and it will be quite interesting to see where certain characters eventually side. This novel has something for everybody, as the suspense is incredible as usual. The Goblet of Fire is, by far, the darkest book of the series so far, as it deals with difficult topics like cheating and death, but J. K. Rowling weaves it together so well, you can't help but enjoy this book. This well written book is a must read for any household that has children in it. It won't let you down. Pottermania is everywhere.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed! Review: A friend turned me and my wife onto the Potter mania and I must say I have enjoyed it! We just finished #4 and I wasn't as impressed as with the others, #3 was my favorite! I guess my complaint was that of course #4 has its surprise that you don't expect and twists all your expectations you have developed about the characters up to that point. The only problem in #4 was that the shock was so far off and seperated from the main plot that it took the next 20 pages to explain, and catch up, with how this even could have happened. It felt like the previous 500 pages were a waste. Don't get me wrong, I like surprises, I just felt like I was left out of the building up to the surprise. I understand this is a children's book and adults are often over critical considering the book's intended audience. I will definetly read the Potter series too the end!
Rating: Summary: I think Rowling had blown off the trail a bit Review: I'm not trying to critisize Rowling, but I just want to keep my comment open, ok? In the past, the three Harry Potter series had always stuck into my head whenever I read them, no matter which chapter I was reading, and I always tried to finish them as soon as possible because it was really exciting, as if I was actually in the book with HP. But this time, I got so bored in the beginning, I can even see for myself that some of the chapters can be cut shorter in the beginning! Fortunately, from when HP start doing tasks till the ending, it was very good, and some are even pretty suprising. Although HP was not especially good this time, I still look forward to what is coming, what HP will do this time when Voldemont had finally come back full with power.
