Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire beat all! Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire beat all! In this fourth thrilling book by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter encounters new people and strange places. The story jumps smoothly from the Quidditch world cup to Hogwarts and then to Lord Voldemort. Harry is almost not allowed to go to the Quidditch world cup but his best friend, Ron's' family comes and gets him from his harsh and cruel Aunt and Uncle. When he finally gets to the Quidditch world cup he has the time of his life until the end of the tournament. It comes about that a few death-eaters (Voldemort supporters) wanted to have a little fun, so they torture a muggle family for no reason. Their fun is stopped by a faithful death-eater who puts the dark mark in the sky. Harry gets out of this mess and finally makes it to Hogwarts. At Hogwarts he finds out that the ministry of magic is going to restart the Triwizard Tournament between Hogwarts and two other wizard schools. There are to be only three contestants that are at least sixteen years old. But oddly a fourth contestant is chosen: Harry Potter. This causes corruption in the school. Everyone thinks he cheated. Even his best friends think he cheated. Finally after two of the tasks he has to perform his friends believe him and the rest of the school doesn't think he put his name in. When the third task arrives Harry and the other Hogwarts contestant Cedric Diggory find themselves tied for first. They grab the trophy together and both are taken far away from Hogwarts where Cedric is killed and Harry comes close to being killed. Voldemort has been waiting on them ready to kill Harry after Voldemort gets a new body. Harry barely escapes in time to grab Cedric's body and get back to Hogwarts. I recommend this book to People of all ages! These Harry Potter books are fun and exciting and I am sure you will enjoy them too!
Rating: Summary: Hey People READ Review: The title of the book I read was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, by J. K. Rowling. This is an adventure fiction book. The Main characters this time are Hermione, Ron, Sirius Black, Hadgrid, and of course Harry. Now at the age of 14, Harry has only two more weeks with his Muggle relatives before returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Yet one night a vision harrowing enough to make his scar burn which has Harry on edge and contacting his godfather in hiding, Sirius Black. Happily, the prospect of attending the season's premier sporting event, the Quidditch World Cup, is enough to make Harry momentarily forget that Lord Voldemort and his sinister familiars, the Death Eaters, are out for murder. This year there will be no Quidditch matches between Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Instead, Hogwarts will vie with two other magicians' schools, the stylish Beauxbatons and the icy Durmstrang, in a Triwizard Tournament. Those chosen to compete will undergo three supreme tests. Harry is one of the lucky contenders. He passes the first test with the summoning charm summoning his Firebolt, the second with gillyweed. On the third test Cidoric Digory helped him but when they touched the cup at the same time together they were teleported by a portkey to the place of Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters for Lord Voldemort to regain his power. I would strongly recommend this book to anybody who likes long book, with more than 700 pages you have to be patient to get to good parts and when you begin reading the first chapter you will want to know why it is there because they mention Harry's name about one or twice at the end you see why.
Rating: Summary: Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover Review: I'm 13 years old and I've read all four Harry Potter books. At first I thought they were for little kids, but then my friend got me started on them, and for that I thank her. The fourth book is probably the best book in the series, so far. I loved the twists and turns in the plots, and the secrets that were reavealed about some of the characters. Any person who likes to have a good time should read Harry Potter. You can really get into the characters and find at least one that you identify with or absolutely love, whether it be our hero, Harry Potter himself, or grumpy old Professor Snape (who happens to be my favorite character!). I never read a book more than once, but Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the rest of the series are definitely books I will be revisiting again and again.

Rating: Summary: What an Excellent Read for All Ages Review: As a mother of 2 boys, ages 5 and 10, I originally purchased the first book to read to them at bedtime. Now I am hooked. All of these books are wonderful and great for the imagination of the young and old. This book however, is the best! I think J.K. Rowling has outdone herself. I am not sure how book 5 can get any better. The details are so expliciit, we feel as if we are right there experiencing all of Harry's mischief and fun. My sons are enthralled as I turn the pages. They are terribly put out, when I say it is time for bed. Everytime we read another chapter they are just as entranced as the last. It is amazing how well they respond to listening to a wonderful story. This book also inspired my oldest to become Harry Potter for Halloween. What a delightful imagination these books have unleashed in him.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter fires up the imagination in 'Goblet'! Review: Considering, already, the financial, as well as literary, success of J.K. Rowling, reviewing `Harry Potter and the Goblet ofFire' is almost anticlimactic! Other than to issue raves--what can besaid? That she's amassed an incredibly large, almost cultish, following is another given. Picking up any 700 page book can beintimidating to almost any reader, let alone pre-pubescent ones(Rowling has a large following here!) and `Goblet' is no exception. However, intimidating and even cumbersome it may be, the novel onlypicks up steam as the pages roll by--Rowling seems to magnetize herreaders at an even more intense rate in this, the fourth, Potter book.Harry is now facing in his fourth year at Hogwarts School ofWitchcraft and Wizardry and the summer with his foster-relatives, theDursleys, has been interminable. However, respite comes along, as theQuidditch World Cup is about to be played and Harry's friends, theWeasleys, have persuaded the Dursley's to permit Harry to attend andto stay the remainder of the summer with them. And what a World Cupit is! Harry, the impressionable 14-year-old is all agog over thegame, its players, and the teams' supporters. But soon, amidst the WCrevelries, havoc descends upon them and Rowling charts her course foran absorbing continuum of this series! It's then back to schoolfor Harry, a new Dark Arts teacher, and the spectacular TriwizardTournament is to be held at Hogwarts, pitting the champions of thethree largest witchcraft/wizardry schools for the first time in agesin amiable competition. But here the plot begins to sicken! With herusual skill, Rowling soon has everyone involved in, once more, thestuggle, the manipulations, the deadly force of `good v. evil'!Voldemort has returned! And Rowling has never been so deadly, soquick, and so judgmental! In `Goblet,' however, the authoraddresses a more mature audience as she examines human rights(Hermione champions house elves' rights to be free), a more adulthuman relationship (Harry and Ron notice the opposite sex in a moremature manner!), and, ultimately, death (a key character dies)--allthree not usually topics in young readers' literature. Rowlingsucceeds clearly in her endeavors. Of course, as this is the fourth(in a promised seven) installment of the Harry Potter series, not allends are tied up. The Malfoys will be back; so will Voltemort, Snape,Dumbledore--in short, quite likely most of the `regulars.' They willbe welcomed. Despite the media blitz of this book, it's well worththe hype. Rowling's legions continue to grow!(Billyjhobbs@tyler.net)
