Rating: Summary: Magical adventures Review: I really liked this book a lot. It was very exciting and it kept my interest. I would recommend it to anyone that likes action and magic. Since they make magic such and ordinary thing, it doesn't even seem very magical, although it is. I've read the other three Harry Potter books too, and I liked them just as much as this one. They are all exciting, and they have to do with each other. They all explain what happened in the other Harry Potter books so you can understand what's going on. Harry isn't Mr. Perfection like you'd think he'd be. He has problems too: his parents are dead, and he lives with his terribly mean aunt and uncle. I can't wait to read the next Harry Potter book and I rate this one a five.
Rating: Summary: This is an excellent book Review: This is an excellent book. I have always liked these books and I think this is the best yet.It deals with real emotions. It also deals with peer pressure which is very hard for kids Harry's age. It is like books #1 #2 and #3, it is impossible to predict what will happen at the end. THough this book is fantasy it is also very realistic. Harry is faced with his biggest challenge yet. The ending is what I have been predicting will happen sometime in this series, though I really thought that Harry would overcome the problem in the same book that it arises. I am not going to say what the ending is, you have to figure out what it is. Furthermore, I think the people who say these books are evil and unchristian need to GET A LIFE!
Rating: Summary: Great but misunderstood... Review: There are a few points that I want to get across. First, no matter what I say, I loved it. I loved all 4 books (so far) so much I helped make a Harry Potter website. All of these other reviews explain why it's so great, and i agree. But it is misunderstood. J.K. Rowling never intended for the book to be for young kids... notice the age it is listed for even here on amazon.com. It really is much more mature than it seems. Teenagers will enjoy this book very much as well as younger children. I made my parents read it too, and they expected it to be childish, yet they both loved it. Yes, the plot is a little dark, but not for the older readers who i think it was intended for originally. Rowling says that the plots of her future books will be even darker...Some people say that it is against Judeo-Christian religion. I completely disagree. For those who say that a book focused on witchcraft promotes the worship of a devil is VERY wrong. Why? Because witchcraft is a religion that's been around for thousands of years - the most popular form being Wicca. Wicca is actually a very peaceful nature religion that is in NO way associated with Satan. And this book is just a normal magical fantasy book, and is not trying to convert you innocent little children. Trust me. The book has had a lot of hype... and it's great, but there are other books which are just as good that haven't gotten as much attention. Be warned that while most people love it, everyone has different tastes and you might not. It ALMOST lives up to the hype... I give this book a 9/10.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: This book, as well as the previous three, is unbelievably exciting. I am a teacher and read all four books to my class. When you get to the end of the book it is impossible to put them down. They are so creative and entertaining. My class begs me to read more each day. I am so looking forward to the next book. This one really leaves you craving for more. I am urging my husband to read them because they are such good reading.
Rating: Summary: The Harry Potter phenomenon- it just keeps getting better Review: First of all, if you have yet to hear about Harry Potter, you are ages behind the rest of the country. Harry has turned into a true star, delighting the world with his wit, humor and bravery. The brainchild of JK Rowling, Harry Potter has turned into an international phenomenom, captivating young and old alike... and it is not hard to see why. Not since The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe have there been such inventive books. Harry Potter, already in the fourth year of school, has grown up before the readers' eyes, experiecing happiness and tragedy. Far from being an ordinary boy, this wizard and his whole world brings joy and sorrow to all that read his adventures. The presence of magic in our ordinairy lives makes us want to be like Harry and have so many wonderful adventures. Harry Potter, beginning with the Soceror's Stone has faced evil and always managed to escape. It is tuly delightful and breathtaking to experience each mission with this boy. He is truly brave, loyal and quickwitted, and you will find yourself cheering for his success at every turn. With Hogwarts the wizarding school as the background, Harry spends time with friends while learning how to become a full fledged wizard. the presence of enemies makes for interesting scenes. Harry Potter is truly a phenomenon that cannot be expressed in mere words. The author has created an environment, and a legacy that will last for a lifetime. You will truly be enchanted and captivated by the whole Harry Potter series. When you read, you will understand why I find it hard to explain.
Rating: Summary: Harry does it again Review: As if by "magic" J.K. Rowling pulls out of her hat yet another of the seven booked Potter saga. This story takes an interesting perspective in the young boy's life. This book is very pivotal for the series as far as plot is concerned. The book's intricate plot and loopholes make it hard to put down. Charming and delightful to read it seems great for all ages. But once one gets inside the plot and predicaments that young Harry finds himself in, it may not be suitable for younger children. Harry triumphs, but how? By lyling, stealing, and exhibiting behavior that is literally unacceptable. Bad aside, it shows to children the importance of friends and a strong will and determination. Despite the good though, the bad triumphs in the main line: Evil will win back it's power and take control. This is not what we want to expose our children to because it is not true.
Rating: Summary: All 4 books Review: I thought the harry potter books were the best! It took me through hogwarts as if i was there. i just couldn't put them down. They were suspensful and mysterious... and sometimes even scary! I can't wait for number 5. If your looking for a good book, one that you won't be able to put down, one that will "keep you on the edge of your seat" these are definitly the books for you.
Rating: Summary: why harry potter is so great to read Review: Harry Potter is a wonderful fantasy tale. The tri-wizard tournament adds to the excitement. you meet many other wizards from different cultures. this book has the most magic good and dark then any other of the series so far I think. j.k. Rolling keeps you spellbound and unable to put the book down throughout the story. it is a wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: The Best Yet Review: I've read all four books, and so far this is the best one yet. It brings everything from Quidditch, to creatures, and even more seacrets together and magnifies it for the reader. Adding to Harry's collection of magical things ranging from wands, brooms, and invisible cloaks, he recieves omnoculars as a gift which he watches the Quidditch world cup through. I've never read a book and liked it until I started reading the Harry Potter series. Every line is packed with action and leaves the reader on the edge of his seat wanting to keep reading. I found myself, sometimes, not able to put the book down. If you looking for action and adventure I recomend this book for all ages. I'm sure that you won't be dissipointed.
