Summary: The Second Best, In My Opinion
Review: I LOVE this book. It is much of a favorite of mine. I still give it 5 stars, but my favorite book is the "Chamber of Secrets." But, we're on the "Goblet of Fire." I was at Barnes & Noble on July 7th for LITERALLY HOURS for the opening festivities and it was not available when I was still in line! Well, ever since I DID get it, I am glad I did, as it is, in my humble opinion, the Second Best book ever written.

Summary: The best so far in this wonderful series!
Review: Well, I purchased the book back in the summer when it came out waiting impatiently for the Winter holiday so that I could really sit down and savor this huge tome when I had some time off to do so properly! It was worth the wait! Incredible that is was even better than I could have imagined. Simply riveting. I love the way Ms. Rowling has brought children and adults back to reading. She is an amazing writer and I love the world that she has created.

Summary: Oh Harry, you're so fine you blow our minds!
Review: This book you'll be reluctant to put down. You can't resist it. Sure rivals Lord of the Rings! I got this book from my aunt as a birthday present and from the moment I read it, I just can't fall asleep or eat my dinner properly!Rowling creates a new and witty plot--and woe without the Quidditch! But I think that the Triwizard competitions are even more exciting than the Quidditch matches. For those who haven't read the book yet, you'll enjoy the part where Ron and Hermione have a spat--all because she had Krum for a date. For most teens: if you want to have your best friend for a date, don't take the person as a last resort! It was deliciously funny...

My sister, my aunt and I are all waiting for Year Five.

Summary: Magic!
Review: This book definitely lives up to all expectations. It's fantastic! Although it is a bit darker than the rest, the book certainly is better. You find out all sorts of things u never knew about Harry and about how magic works. The way Rowling describes everything in so much detail makes it all seem so real and believable. For all u non-Harry Potter readers out there who are looking for a great read, i definetely reccomend this book. Trust me, u won't be able to put it down!

PS just FYI, the next Harry Potter book will be called Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and it will be released around November (along with the movie)

Summary: A terrific read!
Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is an extraordinary book!

The plots are all terrific, they all have an effect of some sort on all the characters and they are very creative. And there are a lot of plots throughout the story, so that readers are not bored by reading the same old plot for the whole story.

The characters are also great, they are all different in many ways which is what makes them interesting. They all have different thoughts and feelings about everything. And Ms. Rowling uses unimportant characters from the other books again as main characters in this book, which is great.

And, of course, just about everything in this book is absolutely different than anything we know. There is magic in everything from classes to meals, and we've never heard of a Qudditch World Cup or Triwizard Tournament! The classes are all magic, from Transfiguration to Charms to Potions to Defense Against the Dark Arts. And there are wands, spells, cauldrons, and more!

Overall, Ms. Rowling did an excellent job with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! The paragraphs above are reasons why this has become one of my favorite books and I think you will like it too if you read it! I can't wait for the next Harry Potter book!

Summary: Excessivnus Wordunus!
Review: Unfortunately, like many commercial successes, Harry Potter 4 suffers from the dreaded "more is better" syndrome. Instead of the quick, easy read that was a cornerstone of the first three books in the series, "Goblet of Fire" dims by comparison--due mainly to its molasses-paced plot development, meandering subplots, lengthy (and dare I say, mostly irrelevant)narratives, and overdosing of magic-speak. This book distinguishes itself from the first three with its lack of pacing. Nearly 200 pages in and the only compelling chapter was the first. Ironically, it was that chapter--which was featured in one of the newsweekly magazines--that originally piqued my interest in Harry Potter and inspired me to read the first three books. Imagine the disappointment upon finally reading book four in its entirety, only to find it lacking woefully. Gone is the charm of magic, instead replaced with a bludgeoning of hyperbole and enchantment overkill. Then again, perhaps I am merely out of step with society because I also became bored with "Seinfeld," and with most other commercial television series, after the third season.

Summary: Excellent read!
Review: I'm not going to say that this fourth Harry Potter book is the best thing I've ever read because it's not. But J. K. Rowling is in my list of top ten authors, along with C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkein, Orson Scott Card, Terry Pratchett (why is only one of those authors American?) and others. I am a great fan of J. K. Rowling though. She has excellent command over her word choice. I love to read, I get told "put that book down" probably mor than most kids get told "turn that TV off." I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in one day (hey it was summer and school was out...)I didn't mind the book being long, even if it did seem to drag at some points it turns out later that some key elements pop up in seemingly irrelevant scenes. I love the way that Rowling gives you absolutely no clue as to who the "bad guy" is. There are not many authors who would do that. I'd just like to say a few more things. First: Rowling never said the books were for children; she wouldn't even let her own daughter read it alone. Second: To any parents who say that the book is too dark, take a look at what your child watches on TV and then re-think judging this book. Third: To those who say that the ending could have been better. Yes, of course it could have! But Rowling is not trying to have this story all wraped up nice and neat, the story continues, she is leaving openings for more things later. (That's kind of like the same thing as the people who were disappointed in Anakin Skywalker not going to the dark side in Phantom Menace, well duh! its got 2 more movies) Last: Rowling is not writing to please anyone but herself with these stories. This is her story, she doesn't have to write anymore, she could stop writing now and live comfortably for the rest of her life. My only problem is with Scholastic, there are discrepancies between the British and American versions that have nothing to do with language differences. All in all, I really enjoyed this book. But I also recommend The Lord of the Rings to anyone who says the Harry Potter books are the best thing ever.

Summary: Harry Potter IV not what I expected-- worse
Review: I was very excited waiting for Harry Potter when it came out. When I read it, I was very dissapointed. The first 250 pages of the book are a review of the last three books. This was so dull for me, and I wonder it the same thing will happen in book 7 to recapp the last 6 books. I also didn't think the plot had the potential of what it would have been. I heard this book would be "darker," but it didn't seem any darker than the others-- just too youngly written. My mother and cousin who I got into the Harry Potter series are stuck on book 4, and they say its too long and boring to pick up again.

Summary: This Goblet of Fire is causing a SPARK in children's reading
Review: Excellent. I have read all four of the Harry Potter books. They are just great. Each book has it's own magestical tale of mystery and triumph. You won't be able to put them down. This series is doing wonders for kids, making them want to read. I can assure you that you'll want to read them over and over again. They're just great. The character development is amazing. It makes you feel as if you are a student at Hogwarts. I strongly urge that you read ALL of the Harry Potter books.

Summary: A fourth serving of.........Harry Potter
Review: In this 4th Harry Potter book, Harry, Hermoine, and Ron travel on platform nine and three quarters to Hogwarts for their fourth year of wizardry training, but not before seeing the Quidditch World Cup. This year there is supposed to be a triwizard tournament where three wizards from opposing schools must figure out clues to their challenges and prepare for them. However most of the students, including Harry, Ron, and Hermione, are dissapointed when they hear that only wizards that are 17 years old may participate, because of the high death toll in past years. Those who wanted to enter were to put their name in the Goblet of Fire, and it would choose the most worthy contender from each school. When the wizards to be competeing are annouced, Harry's name is released as a fourth wizard, even though he didn't enter his name.Harry has to face many challenges, not only in the triwizard tournament , but with his classes and friends too.Although it is very long, it still isn't very hard to follow and anyone who has liked the past books will enjoy it
