Summary: Yes, another Harry Potter fan.(an endless line of them).
Review: The reading level for this book is 9-12, but don't let that put you off of this creative series. The media is gushing about these books, but don't let that put you off. There's a movie coming out, but don't let that put you off. If you haven't read this books, you're obviously missing something. This book (The series infact) has something for everyone. Mischeif and Fun for the younger ones, and themes only adults will pick up on. Unforgettable characters, plots, and images will float into your conversations ("yeah, she's a Hermione Granger all right), and this will be a fulproof way to connect with your children, neices, grandchildren, so on. overall, if almost everyone who picks up the books like them, won't you too?

Summary: Daniel's opinion
Review: This was one of Rowlings best books. This is saying something, as I've read all her books. The book is a little too thick, but that is because she is very disciriptive. I am 10 years old and I loved some parts like," Anyone can speak Troll," said Fred dismissively. "All you have to do is point and grunt," and "Dudley had roughly reached the size and weight of a young killer whale." This book is an excellent read!!

Summary: Rowling continues to impress
Review: My fiancee and I started reading Harry Potter in the spring of 2000, and we have read all four books. We've done so in an unusual manner -- I read them aloud to her (it started when she had a severe migraine and her head hurt too badly to let her watch TV or read). Our reading has followed a pattern: we slowly pick through chapters for the first third of a book, as Rowling gathers all the strings from the previous books and gets the kids back to Hogwarts, then we pick up speed as the plot picks up. We usually read the last third of the book in a day. Goblet of Fire was no different. The first third was (for me) the best beginning to a Harry Potter book yet, and the pace stayed swift from the first page to the last. We read the last 200+ pages in one night, finishing around 2am. Work the next day was not fun.

Absolutely amazing writing, brilliant characters, well thought-out plots, tremendous written imagery. This is the best book yet -- darker than the previous books, but the difficulties faced by Harry and his friends are well constructed and the very sad ending is a powerfully done piece of writing that speaks volumes about good and evil. It also shows some of the powerful potential within Harry, and what his parents must have been like during Voldemort's reign. (By the way, we now have more reason than ever to say that it's a BAD idea to mess with Dumbledore.) I look forward to book 5.

Summary: Goblet of Fire
Review: actually i think this book id one of the best though it's extremly long. It should be easy to read for almost every reading level, even for those begining english. Once again Harry Ron and Hermione take us on another thrilling adventure. Of course, Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle are involved, but they take the back seat in this book. It seems that they have no Defence against Dark Arts teacher and Professor Moody (a.k.a Mad Eye Moody) is just the person to fill the position. This year the tri-wizard tournament is taking place and so Hogwarts and 2 other schools get together at Hogwarts and begin the cerimony. Now usually, three names come out of the hat, but this time a fourth came out. Of course, it had Harry Potter on it. Thus Harry must compete with the others to win the tournament and stay alive, but with voldemort in the backround watching.... how long will harry last. This is a very good book that shows how friends must stick together to defeat evil. If you like Harry Potter, you might wanna check out storys like Redwall

Summary: A great book, but not perfect
Review: Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire is the 4th sequl of the great Harry Potter series. This is the longest book of the Harry Potter series, which is 734 pages long. Even though it¡¯s such a long book, it doesn¡¯t get boring. The main character, Harry, who is 14 years old, goes to magic school called Hogwarts. Somehow, Harry gets selected as Hogwarts Trywizard tournament member. Each of champions has to complete three tasks in order to win the Triwizard cup. Find out about three tasks by reading this great book. I think the disappointing part of this book is that even though the story had many twists, it¡¯s a very simple story. The plot has many twists like a good guy was actually bad guy at the end. So for older readers, the story might be a little boring. However, I think it¡¯s still a very good book. I think the theme of this book is love is always stronger than hatred. Just as in the book that Lord Voldmort is such a strong evil wizard with such an immense power of hate, he still lost to Harry, who is not a really strong wizard but who has a great power of love.

Summary: Christians beware
Review: Of your own prejudices that is. I am one of you, fundamentalist, born again, etc. and I am deeply dissappointed at how many of us reject really excellent books on the recommendations of people they have never met, without ever even attempting to form their own opinions. They seem to think that any book with a witch in it must necessarily be evil. They must be forgetting the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, a very thinly veiled allegory of the saving work of Christ, which also contains witches, wizards, magic and magical creatures. The Harry Potter Series may not be allegorical in nature, but it is a harmless adventure with positive themes of good vs. evil (where good always wins) and the power of love and friendship. Please, please, I urge you my fellow Christians, before you condemn what you do not understand, read the book with an open mind. It won't turn your children into Satanists, I promise.

Summary: This One is the One By Which All Ohters Will Be Measured
Review: No matter how many more novels about the now infamous Harry Potter are published, I feel they will all be judged against this one. Kind of like the FDR of the series.

I stand by my earlier reviews of previous Harry Potter books when I wrote that Rowling writes with the growing perception of an aging boy. In this fourth volume, she sees the world more fully and through older eyes than previously. Harry is growing and so is his world.

This is one fine piece of literature. Rowling sets a stage early in a way reminiscent of some of the great horror writers of the times. And this book is less fantasy adventure as it ends up being horrific. In one of the longest climactic sequences I've read in ages, she unfolds her plot's essence and sets the monsters loose and you just can't help reading it. You can't stop. And why should you?

All the things you want to happen in this book actually happen. Harry shows hints of his greatness. The only thing that happened that I didn't like was that it ended.

I am continually impressed by the scope of the Harry Potter novels as well as Rowling's remarkable ability to realize an epic vision. But the previous three were complete with more or less definite closure. Not so here. This one will have you swimming the pond or crossing the country or flying the Edinburgh and knocking at Rowling's door demanding book five. I understand it's due out in 2002.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone book 1
Review: I find the book well written. The names are great. It was a wonderful adventure, felt like I was there myself. There's magic, mystery, and mayhem all wraped together in a neat package. It shows the value of true friendship.Things aren't alway what it seems. Once you start you don't want to stop, it's addictive reading.

Summary: The Beginning of the Book
Review: Well, here it is folks! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This is the Fourth Harry Potter Book in the series, and I would say, the best! Many people say that the beginning was a bit slow, but those people don't realize how boring the book would be without it! It sets the stage for the rest of the book, with Harry's Dream in which he sees Voldemort planning to kill him, The Death Eaters returning and making sport of muggles and the Dark Mark which is mysteriously fired into the sky at the World Cup.

Now, I have to ask you: if all these strange thing hadn't happened would you be excited of Viktor Krums Arrival? Would you find anything wrong with Bertha Jorkins disappearance? Would you have even the SLIGHTEST idea who they were talking about when they said Mad-Eye-Moody? I think not.

For all of those people who haven't read the book yet, try not too think things like "this is sooo boring" or "I'm never going to finish!" because J. K. Rowling never includes anything that dosen't have a purpose in the plot, and if you think it is a bit boring at the beginning then just keep slugging along until you get past the stuff that was boring you to death for I can ASSURE you that it is very interesting once you get past the opening of the plot and into the school year with pesky reporters, Jolly Ministry Members and House Elf protests.

I guess all I can say is that whether you thought the beginning was good or not there is no question that the bulk of it was funny, lively, and entertaining.

Summary: A Great Read for Adults and Children
Review: J.K. Rowling keeps getting better and better. In Book 5 she introduces more characters as well as magical creatures. She captivates the readers by bringing humor, suspense, friendships, as well as obstacles that need to be overcome. I like that Harry is not perfect. That he still needs his assistance from his friends and other characters in the book. As a parent of two children who never really want to pick up a book, the Harry Potter books have changed their lives. It has been a ritual to read every night now, and they love it. Thank you J.K. Rowling. We are looking forward to book 5.
