Summary: Unconventional Harry Potter! The Best Yet!
Review: 'The Goblet of Fire' is book 4 in the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling. It is also the largest book to date in this series. To fully appreciate this one, you simply must read the preceding three. Book 4 takes a completely different turn from the first three, with an entirely unconventional year at Hogwarts. In this book Harry Potter get exposed in a big way to the international world of wizardry by first attending the 'Quidditch World Cup' and later becoming a part of a very exciting and secret competition between two other wizarding schools like Hogwarts. The characters from preceding books are in full swing in this one, and as usual J.K. Rowling introduces even more colorful and exciting characters in this edition. Additionally there is the alarming return of the frightening 'He who must not be named'. There is nothing quite like the imagination of this author, it is simply wonderful and brilliant. She really has an incredible gift for capturing the reader in the most unusual and exciting adventures. This book has kind of a dark and scary ending, unlike the preceding three. All the same, however, it sets up the reader with screaming curiosity for the forth-coming book 5. You will simply enjoy this one as the whole story broadens out to become a huge global adventure, and Harry Potter is the ultimate hero. This series has a unique way of spanning the generations of readers, and anyone looking for something fun and entertaining to read should definitely dig into this series. You will find yourself captured like none other with this imaginative and refreshing creation. Further the illustrations by Mary Grandpre are just right throughout the book to keep you turning page after page. The biggest problem with this book is that it leaves you ravenously wanting to read book 5, and it has not been released yet! A remarkable story, and it has me totally captured! You will simply love it!

Summary: Is it the best so far?
Review: It's really hard for me to say whether I think the "Goblet of Fire" is the best Harry Potter book so far because to me, all four of them are great all-around books and all four of them have their certain strong points. One thing that's consistent is that the author, J.K. Rowling, really knows how to write a masterpiece with each one.

The "Goblet of Fire" is a more mature and more upbeat Harry Potter book when you compare it to its three predecessors. Harry is now interested in girls, he is braver than ever, and most of all, he is getting into more dangerous situations than he has ever dreamed of. I'm not going to describe any of the events in detail because that would give away some of the book's best parts. Some of the new things you'll see while you read the "Goblet of Fire" that you haven't ever seen Harry get into before, are a gruesome encounter with Voldemort, a major disagreement between Harry and one of his best friends, and you will learn a lot of new things about Harry such as something his scar does.

That's not even half of the best parts of the "Goblet of Fire." When I started reading it, let's say for the first hundred pages, it didn't really grasp me that strongly, but once I got to finding out why the title of the book is the "Goblet of Fire," I simply couldn't put this book down.

If you like GREAT books that are destined to become classics before you know it, I definitely recommend getting the "Goblet of Fire." IT'S A MUST HAVE!!!

Summary: The greatest author
Review: Take Tolkein's gift in writing, add a dash of Roald Dahl's humour and the enthralling use of words by Louise Cooper and u get J.K Rowling. Out of the series, my favourite is Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, going back into Hogwarts, a series of adventures and danger once again follow Harry like a curse. Now with double the pages, comes double the adventure. I really loved it and I don't know how some people hate it. Harry Potter rulez, but I don't think the idea for a movie was good, it spoils the imagination that we conjure up each time we read the book.

Summary: Anything that keeps children reading...
Review: I've heard a lot of criticism about J.K. Rowling's books, but I must say that anything that keeps children reading, and not watching television, has got to be good. In the US, we constantly see articles about declining literacy rates or the amount of television that an average child watches during the day. I am ecstatic to see the response from Rowling's books. I am 20 years old and I have read books one through four, twice. And just thinking about Harry, Ron, and Hermione, makes me want to read them a third time. I'm not the only one, either. My 56 year old father also enjoys them. He says that they remind him of "The Hobbit" series by J.R.R. Tolkien, fun and imaginative. And they are just that, fantasy and fun!

The thought of anyone thinking that these books somehow condone occults or Satan, seems absolutely ludacrist. I've always been an avid reader, but these books are just too tempting to pass up. And I don't mean tempting by the way of Satan.

If we really want to "save" our children from the devil and all other sorts of evil that some people think are associated with these books, let's focus on the people that raise the children, not an author trying to make children happy. Just think about it, J.K Rowling didn't have to continue with the third or fourth book if she didn't want to. So many books were bought with the first and second editions, that she could have been set for life. But instead, she chose to do something that made her and millions of other people in the world happy. She continued to make us laugh with these books.

I've heard so many stories about parents reading these books to their children, instead of watching a TV program together. Now what do you think that a child will remember more, sitting together in silence watching a rerun of Sabrina or a delightful half-hour of reading with their Mom or Dad? I think that anyone who has read these books knows the answer to that.

I'd suggest these books to anyone, whether you can read them in two days or two years, these books are just too good to miss.

Summary: Rowling is on "Fire"!!!
Review: I can see absolutely nothing wrong with this book, so... why not give it FIVE STARS! This book has everything, action, adventure, a touch of comedy and even a dash of romance. (But if you don't like that kind of thing, just ignore it.) There is non-stop suspense in a fantastic story line. Of course, it has lots of red herring and plot twists toward the fiend in the book just like the others. The book is long, but is never, ever boring at any time, so it will keep you happily entertained for a long time. In this book, there will be no school quiditch games, so to compensate for that fact, Harry, Ron and Hermoine all go to the "Quiditch World Cup." If I were you, I would definetly buy this book; there's a surprise ending-I've said too much!

Summary: Boring and Endless
Review: I bought this book because my 12 year old son begged me to and we decided to read it together. It did not live up to the hype and expectation at all. Most of the "exciting" magic scenes were straight out of Star Trek in my view. I thought it lacked original creativity and was not at all what I would like my son to be reading. He was not inspired by it either and wondered what all the fuss was about! It took great effort to actually finish the book.

Summary: Delightful struggle between good and evil.
Review: Fast spaced action for hero and his friends, nothing is ever easy nor is it simple. Each corner has a new twist and unexpected challenge for Harry and with each turn you find the friends gain knowledge, understanding and experience.

Summary: Suffering from the "kitchen sink "syndrome.
Review: At over 700 pages, Rowlings latest installment of the Harry Potter saga could have used some judicious editing. Including almost every character introduced so far and a slew of new ones, this book just has too much going on. From the Quidditch World Cup to the Tri-Wizard tournament, this book bounces from one major event to another with little of the character development that Rowling has become justly known for. More trouble for Hagrid, more problems with Snape, and red herrings abound in this massive tome. The most compelling aspect of this novel is the understanding that Voldemort's evil is a powerful one; it manifests itself horribly in the climax of this tale and reminds the reader that all is not laughs and good times for Hogwart's most famous student. Hopefully Rowling will get back on track with the next installment. Sometimes, less is more.

Summary: Not that good
Review: Yes, I liked the book as the other three, and I read it in a couple of days, but I have to say (sorry to the other fans) that it's not as good as the previous books. It's twice as long as the others, which could not be a problem, but Mrs. Rowling felt that she had to add new messages to the tale, such as the freedom of the poor elves, caught in a slavery sistem by the magiciams themselves, and other allusions about human equality that appeals to me like cheap morality. Besides, the "surprise effect" (with the adding of new characters and elements) tends to be a routine that, with every new part of the saga, is getting more and more complicated to justify. Other than that, it's interesting. (This review is based on the spanish translation of the book.)

Summary: This book is a must read for Harry Potter fans!
Review: After reading the three previous books in the Harry Potter series, I was really hoping the fourth would be as good as the other three. I was correct! This book exceeded all of my expectations as a reader and I was amazed. The Goblet of Fire in my mind, was the best out of the series so far. It contained all of the elements of a good story, and added so much more. Once again, the villan is a huge supprise and Harry is subjected to more daring tasks, and adventures leaving the reader on the edge of their seat. Many new and interesting characters are introduced in the story, as well as three more schools of wizardry and witchcraft! JK Rowling has really outdone herself by writing this amazing book, and I think you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.
