Summary: Very cool....
Review: This allows fans to discover more of TPM after they've seen the movie. I bought this before the film came out and forced myself NOT to read it.

Along with the awesome visual dictionary, this is a must for any SW fan. Skip the novelization and lay down your Republic credits right here.

Summary: Use this to catch more details when seeing it again!
Review: This book is a very fun way to catch more details to look for when you go back to see the film again!

This is actually an earlier version of the screenplay, used to help the different creative teams see what the film was about; so there are alot of small scenes and dialogue that don't appear in the finished film. Obi-Wan complains more about Jar Jar; Boss Nass says Jar Jar will be crushed as punishment for returning; the bongo submarine gets washed down a waterfall after they emerge in Theed...

This will also help you see little details in the film that you may have missed. For instance, did you notice that Qui-Gon uses the Jedi Mind Trick to persuade Boss Nass to assist them with getting transportation to Theed? I read it in this book, and when I saw the film again, sure enough, I noticed Qui-Gon waving his hand when asking for help...

It's also interesting to see the early visions of the characters, before the final actors were selected. Qui-Gon is described as a 60 year old character; while the storyboard drawings show Amidala as more sassy and bratty looking; and Anakin looks a few years older.

This book has helped me to catch many more details when I go back to see the film again. Try it, you'll love it!

Summary: Better than the Movie.
Review: This book is by far better than the movie. Why? Because lines in the script that were cut in the final product actually fill in the blanks and add more substance to the plot movement. The scene where Amidala appeals to the senate is just one example. There were a lot of little lines that were cut out here but, I feel, important lines. Another facet of this book is when you read it you really feel Anakin should have been at least 14 rather than nine years old and Amidala 16 rather than 14(You'll undertand why when you read the book but the "Angel" dialogue at Watto's was cut so you don't experience it in the movie). It also explains why Anakin was able to enter the Droid Control Ship when everyone else couldn't! The only downside is there isn't any color photos or reasons for the cuts made (Like in JC's Titanic Illustrated Screenplay). A Must Read for ALL Star Wars fans.

Summary: Good book of a fantastic movie
Review: This book is good, but it needs better pictures and they omitted some dialogue and action. Otherwise, good read.

Summary: Truly Wonderful...
Review: This is easily the best screenplay I have ever read. George Lucas has done an excellent job making an excellent storyline for the Star Wars universe once again. I saw the movie last Sunday, May 23rd and just got the screenplay today. I also got the book by Terry Brooks before the movie came out. I must say that I really enjoyed the movie, and the screenplay is just as good, really getting you into the storyline. The illustrations are also truly wonderful. This is a must-have for any SW fan. Or anyone who wants a good screenplay to read. I suggest listening to the soundtrack while reading it, and do yourself by seeing the movie first.

Summary: One of Lucas's Best Published Screenplays
Review: TPM is a wonderful Screenplay, with many layers of story texture. It is closer to Willow than Star Wars [there is a high degree of domestic material; there is an excess of broad humour; most of the background stories go untold]. Lucas has matured as a writer and produces a cavalcade of memorable characters. What surprised me most was how genuinely funny the humorous passages were in print - they must be hilarious onscreen! All in all, Lucas packs the Screenplay with as much story as can be crammed into a 120 minute film - this will be re-read more than the Novel. The storyboards are more carefully chosen than in the Illustrated Special Edition Screenplays & act more like illustrations than reference material.
