Rating: Summary: Proofreading? What's that? Review: This book does a decent job of explaining the basic concepts of introductory solid state physics. The major drawback of the text is its huge collection of typos, incorrect derivations (which may also be typos), and changing notation. The mistakes are bad enough, but the notation at times can make things completely unreadable. For instance, 'i' is used to enumerate an expression and to denote 'sqrt(-1)' in the same expression. Also, the same symbol is used to denote both primitive and nonprimitive lattice volume. With a thorough proofreading, this could be a good text.
