Review: This is a short and sweet introduction to the invertebrate and vertebrate visual systems. Given the small size of this book, its breadth of coverage and clarity of presentation are remarkable. The author should be commended for covering the physics of vision alongside with its anatomy and physiology. I own a copy of this book and highly recommend it as the best introductory text for anyone who enters the field.
