Rating: Summary: Good book but there are serious typographical errors Review: I purchased this book at an ASCP bloodbanking workshop given by the author, because it seems to be a good book for the technologist who wants to brush up on bloodbanking skills or expand knowlege and understanding of blood banking concepts as applied in a clinical laboratory. However on pg 165 in panel 7-3 cell #4 is shown as negative in the coombs phase which does not match the authors interpretation of the panel. However turning the page will reveal panel 7-5 to be the same panel with reactions added for ficin and it can be seen that cell #4 now is shown as 2+ at coombs phase and negative with ficin which would agree with the interpretation of both panels. Also on page 167 after showing panel 7-6 to every blood bank tech I work with some of which are ASBB certified, I have been unable to find anyone who can agree with the interpretation given in the book. It appears to be a totaly unrelated panel and or interpretation. It appears to me that the one proofreading the book was not a blood banker or did not work through the examples in the book. I am sorry to say that I think this is common but serious error in many technical text books.
