Review: This is a terrific book with a lot of appeal not only to people interested in pines, but to a wide audience of ecologists, land managers, foresters and graduate students in ecology. There are 22 chapters by authors from 4 continents, with close to 3000 references. The book offers a wealth of insight into the effects of humans, fire, evolution and systematics of pines, reproduction and life histories, pines and invasive ecology and more.
