Review: Maher's book was a classic from the moment it was released. As an archivist in a theological school library, this guide has been indispensible to me. The book covers a variety of subjects: description, arrangement, records management, electronic records, student workers, etc. Maher's discussions are never too technical, yet they avoid being over simplistic. His discussion of classification guides and provenance should be read by all academic archivists.
