Summary: Waste of money
Review: Different people like different schemas of study.
The one used in this book is the opposite of what I like: very little text, and a lot of tables instead. It might be somewhat useful for a quick review just before an exam, but definitely not for a thoughtful and profound study.
Get some other book instead.

Summary: Great Review Book for USMLE/COMLEX
Review: This book makes a great addition to your arsenal of medical board prep books. It's from the same authors of the Lange pharmacology review; a book rated high in the board prep bible: "First Aid for the USMLE Step 1". This book is more concise, however, and very easy to read. It gives you a good framework from which to build your knowledge base of pharmacology. It doesn't just provide lists of drugs nor does it drone on with minute details. Instead it explains the mechanisms of each drug class, providing most of the important drugs as well as their clinical indications, contraindications and toxicities. It does tend to shy away from offering mneumonics, however, but sometimes other people's mneumonics can be far-fetched and cumbersome in the learning process. I recommend the book as a starting point in getting a grip on the huge amount of material inherent in the study of medical pharmacology. It also works great as a last minute high-yield review of pharm before your exam.
