Review: I think this is a very useful book for graduate students in the field of nuclear theory too. While not pedagogical, it outlines very clearly the motivation and reasons for thinking about nuclear physics in the low energy regime in the way we do today. also, some explanations and rules are more concise and practical than in standard textbooks or papers. this book also emphasizes generality wherever possible, which is good for a conceptual understanding. i strongly recommend this book to anyone who wishes to have a broad understanding of the fascinating vista that is low energy QCD.

Review: This book is cutting-edge. Not only is the science presented here ground-breaking, so too is the original jacket design, a rarity among comparable science books. Moreover, thanks to the editing done by Professor Rho's son Oliver, the prose in this monograph is pleasant and fluid, a far cry from the usual awkward style of scientists whose native language is not English.
