Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A right on look at race, culture, and their fluidity
Review: This book points solidily to how race is not a static or predictable construct. Yon demonstrates that how these students construct their identification is juxtaposed to how they conceptualize their social context, which includes their home and school conceptualization of what is their identification. I highly recommend this book for those seeking to understand the social and emotional turmoil adolescents content with around their racial/ethnic identification while simultaneously defining their academic path and occupational goal.
