Summary: provides examples of the diverse applications of GLIM
Review: Since the work of Nelder and Wedderburn in 1972 it has become computationally feasible to unify normal linear models, categorical models and survival models through the use of a link function in the generalized linear model construct. However implementation has only slowly come about but the techniques are now very popular. Today various software packages are available to implement the methods. It is also the subject of much current research particularly in the medical field. Lindsey provides a clear presentation with many recent applications. The required level of mathematics is intermediate to advanced. Some basic knowledge of statistical methods and inference is assumed.

Another fine applied book with emphasis on computation through GENSTAT is "Statistical Modelling using GENSTAT" by McConway et al. ...
