Summary: this is the one to get
Review: As a detailed review and pedagogical presentation of the statistical approach to the turbulence problem you will not find a better book. This monograph is comprehensive as well as being accessible. All aspects of the renormalised perturbation DIA theory of Kraichnan are covered in detail as well as the Langrangian history direct interaction, LET, EFP and simulation methods (the CUDIA is omitted). A brief description of renormalised group theories are covered, which given McComb's groups current work in this area, it would have been nice to have more detail. While you will not find discussion of the functional operator formalism of Martin et al, and the discussion of the functional integral method is brief, this in no way detracts from this fine text. The only comprabale text of which I am aware is that of Stanisic which is unfortunately littered with typographical errors.

Summary: Modern turbulence models
Review: This is a solid text that covers modern turbulence theory. It is clearly written and easy to follow. Highly recommended . . .
