Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Get a copy of this book if you really want to understand cardiovascular physiology or if you just have the sligthest interest in this subject! If just Levick would write a textbook covering the entire physiologic curriculum...... The book is very thorough but excitingly interesting:-) The essentials of the Frank-Starling mechanism is summarised through a 4-verse rhyme!Pros: -This book covers the core essentials as well as details you will not find in your ordinary textbook. -This book has a incredibly easy to understand and exciding chapter regarding ECG. -Levick writes in a keep it simple stupid kind of way. -It has the right figures (read 2nd ed.) -It integrates and summarises histology as well as physics in a "ohh, thats why I have to know this" way. Cons: -You will have to buy a textbook og physiology beside this. -If you just want to pass your exam and do not have interest in this subject you will probably be better of with your ordinary textbook. All in all. Buy this book or somehow get the chapters covering the essential CV-physiology. They are better than Rhoades & Tanner, Ganong.
Rating: Summary: An excellent introduction to a difficult topic Review: It's great! Bin Guyton and get this instead - it made me understand cardiovascular physiology and goes into just the right depth
