Rating: Summary: Unlocking the Mysteries of Creation Review: I am so impressed with this book!! I plan on giving as many copies as possible to family and friends. In this age of diminishing the omnipotence of God, this beautifully illustrated, well organized, and thought provoking volume has stirred our minds and inspired our faith. It would fascinate middle school through adult ages with the two-page topic format, becoming a springboard for further investigation. This book is indeed awesome!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent book! Review: I highly recommend this book. I can't believe how mis-informed and even "brainwashed" I've been. I've been a Christian all my life yet I've never disputed "modern sciences" theories on the age of the earth and dinosaurs and the development of technology and many other origins. But it's impossible to hold onto any of modern science's theories about early earth AND say that you believe the Bible 100% because each contradicts the other. I've always disagreed with evolution but never knew how to back up my reasoning with anything other than "because the Bible says so!" But this book tells you why and how the Biblical account of creation, man and ages past is true and modern science is wrong. It does it in plain, easy-to-understand language. hte book is full of illustrations and pictures making it an interesting and pleasant read. I recommend this especially to Christian parents who have children in the public school system. Carefully monitor what your children are being taught in the area of science and ancient history and use the book as a parallel with the Bible to teach them the truth.

Rating: Summary: Creation Vs. Evolution Review: I would like to start by saying that the review by Marty in April 2002 was an example of how science has been taught in our society. Science in our country concerning evolution has been taught as fact. However, there is yet to be scientific proof. Evolution is just a theory, that has been taught as fact. Creationism is a believe just as evolution is a believe. It all boils down to one thing. You have two choices when it comes to choosing between evolution and creation, ignorantly (without knowledge, or information) believe what you are told by scientist who have created their own methods of proving age and etc., or investigate for yourself. This book allows those who have had evolution shoved down their throats as fact, to see it in a new light. Anyone who investigates for themselves, will see that evolution is a religion just as creationism. Fortunately for me and many others we have had our eyes opened to this fact. For those of you who disagree, think for a moment, creation is a believe, evolution is a believe. I would much rather believe in a God who created this body of mine with such perfection, (that we has humans are still unable to figure it out completely) than evolution that says we happened by chance and evolved from apes. There are so many resources out there to help those who really want to learn and see that evolution is such a lie. Dig deep and you will find.
Rating: Summary: Don't be fooled by others Review: Most, if not all, of the negative reviewers below are merely parroting statements made by Answers in Genesis concerning this book. While Answers in Genesis performs many good works, they do not represent the positions of all creationists, as they seem to purport. Mr. Peterson, in this book, has done an excellent job of introducing many issues concerning creation science in a book directed at the layman. He also challenges us to think about some of the more controversial issues.Answers in Genesis tends to steer away from controversial issues in the name of presenting a united front on creation science (with themselves as the gatekeeper, of course). That is hardly good science and one of the reasons that evolutionists continue to ridicule creation science. Peterson does not stay in the safe zone and merely re-package a lot of the "safe" creation arguments, but rather he looks at and discusses some of the more controversial issues. While you may not agree with him on all the issues, and I don't think he would expect you to, he does get you to think about them. That is one of the things that really makes this book stand out.

Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This book belongs on every coffee table in America! Every page of Dennis Petersen's gorgeous volume is lavishly illustrated in full color. His accessible and engaging writing style covers a wide variety of creationist evidences, arguments, archaelogical discoveries and data, with the constant invitation to THINK for yourself! You will love the way this book can engage the most jaded reader and spark lively family discussion about the whys and hows of ancient events. Excellent for older children and adults; even younger children will appreciate the vibrant pictures as a parent or sibling explains the text.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Colour llustrations - Full of Scientific Wonders Review: This book is a must for every family who desires to teach the wonderful truths of God's amazing creation. Packed full of scientific research and archaelogical findings. My 9 year old son read this book every night for a month and was extremely excited about the truths he learned. It answered many of the questions he had about our world, sickness, poisonious insects and snakes, and suffering. It built his faith and trust in God.
Rating: Summary: From Coffee-table Book to Study Guide Review: This book is wonderfully written and thought provoking. Written in coffee-table style, with facing pages containing a complete thought, making it wonderful for times when you don't have lots of time to read. It goes beyond the young earth viewpoint to the whole of God's creation, man's fall and the consequences of that action, and the fantastic plan of salvation prepared by the Father for His children. I have read this book more than a dozen times and it continues to be a frequented reference during school as well as adult conversation.
