Summary: Perhaps the best book I have ever read!
Review: As a strong fan of Sitchin, I was a bit disappointed at this rehash of his earlier work. While there are some new avenues to explore, they are few and far between. A new reader of Sitchen will enjoy this - but those of us who have faithfully read everything in the Earth Chronicles, plus the other books he has written, may feel a little cheated. We've been there and heard all this before. I wish he would take his series to the logical conclusion and write about where the Annunnaki went, when Nibiru will orbit near Earth again - and who Yahweh really is. Maybe I'm not reading carefully enough, but, at various times in various books, Yahweh has been Marduk, Sin and Ea, plus the Supreme Being of Nibiru.

Summary: Our ET genetic engineers may have left us a coded message!
Review: Book VI of the Earth Chronicles, "The Cosmic Code", continues Zechariah Sitchin's saga of the Nefilim and their influence on the fate of mankind. In his usual style of inciteful speculation and careful culling of evidence from ancient materials, Sitchin has added a number of new threads to the tapestry of the extraterrestrial intervention hypothesis.

If this is the first book of Sitchin's that you will read, you will find there is enough introductory and review material to bring you up to speed on the tale as told thus far. For the veteran Sitchin reader there is a wealth of new and provocative material to amaze and stimulate further investigation. Those of us who have been enthralled by the "Bible Code" research and revelations will find intelligent and useful insights into it's precursor codes in the cunieform writing system. Kabbalists will find that they too are indebted to the Annunaki for much of the wisdom and understanding contained within their field of study.

For this reader the most fascinating aspect of Sitchin's recent research embodied in "The Cosmic Code" concerns the relationship between the Hebrew alphabet and the genetic code. This is an area that I have been working in for many years. In personal correspondence with Mr. Sitchin regarding this relationship between the language of life and the language of the Torah I outlined the evidence for a deep analogy between the Hebrew letters and the amino acids of the genetic code. With his usual insight, Mr. Sitchin responded, "... Hebrew is just a form of Akkadian, and that the current Hebrew alphabet ("square letters") emanated in the Aramaic. If there is commonality, I would seek it in the earlier Sumerian phase." (personal correspondence, May 31, 1994)

Within the pages of "The Cosmic Code" Sitchin proposes that the alphabet is based on the genetic code and provides insight into how and why such a thing could be. Armed with these insights one might be stimulated to attack the idea that there are meaningful passages of text hidden away within the human genome that could shed further light on the origins of mankind and the intentions (past and future?) of the extraterrestrial genetic engineers who created us.

Thank you Mr. Sitchin.

Summary: Misunderstandings and baseless assertions Ahoy!
Review: For all those praising the academic/scholastic merit of this work, yours must have a detailed references section that the one I picked up seems to lack. I would give him a D- and a "See Me!" had this had shown up on my desk. Someone should point out to him that evolution has no direction, as if we were destined to get to this point and are no longer evolving. Be careful of the plethora of misunderstandings and baseless assertions that can destroy a person's capacity to think about humans at all scientifically, historically, or otherwise. If you're incredulous of my own assertions, please research anything in Sitchin's works. You will have done more research than he likely did, and could even cite it. Don't take one sourceless book's word for it! You'll find planet X (Tiamat?) prophesies, space stations made of rocks, and millions of years of evolution very slightly co-opted by extra-terrestrials less believable than you once did. There are, after all, enough actual mysteries in the world. We don't need another convoluted theory that creates far more problems than it solves. It's no fluke that these books have made no waves in challenging any anthropological or historical constructions of earlier periods of humanity, areas of knowledge that are constantly modified by actual scholarship. It's also no fluke that these books are marginally profitable, and they keep being released, expanding upon the baseless foundation with even more baseless structure rather than defending the indefensible first works. As far as I'm concerned, if he's one of the few who can decipher those texts, he's abusing his position for financial gain, and could easily be ousted in the genre by a legitimate scholar.

Summary: Agree with Scottsdale reviewer, and more thoughts...
Review: I agree with the reviewer from Scottsdale. I revere Sitchin as perhaps the world's preeminent scholar in this field. However, his most recent work seems to be going in circles. We've read it all, and very entusiastically. However, where are our ancestors today? When will the planet in the 3600 year orbit next be visible? I'd like to see Sitchin's attempts to link ancient earth mysteries to unsolved modern myserties, such as the earth's energy grid, the Bermuda Triangle, the "afterlife", psychic ability, and even a more in-depth discussion of the astrology/astronomy rift. Mr. Sitchin, if anyone in the world can do this, you alone are qualified in your most unassuming and appealing manner. It's time to take your work to the next level!

Summary: Worth reading
Review: If Sitchin's Annunaki theories is what you like reading this book is just like his other books. This is a recap on his interpretations of ancient Sumerarian writtings.

Summary: BEST SITCHIN BOOK EVER!
Review: Mr. Sitchin drives it all home with his latest book. He takes a lot of the important material from his other books and sort of "sums it all up." If you only buy one Sitchin Book, make it this one. It is certainly his best(in my opinion.)

Summary: Enlightenment for the Ages - Sitchin has done it again!
Review: There is Only-One-Truth and all sources including the Bible and Science Knowledge will come together. Sitchin is leading us along this path, opening our eyes to the reality of our past & our future on Earth.

Summary: ...a page-turner. It reads history like a detective story.
Review: This was my first Sitchin book. I finished it days ago and can't stop talking about it. It is a brilliant piece of work for its daring re-telling of ancient texts in a brave "tell it like it is" style. Whether or not the author truly believes the things he reports doesn't matter. That, I don't care. What I appreciate is the author's objective reporting. I recommend this book to anyone for its content and trust its completeness in the information presented. This book will challenge and excite everyone who is interested in religion, history, and human origins. I did find flaws in just a very few references to New Testament scripture, but don't let that slow you down. This book clearly summarizes and portrays the dawn of man, our purpose, our fate and destiny, not from human philiosophy, but from real, tangible, historical texts and tablets that are supported by hard evidence. What I love about this book is what I read in between the lines: Sitchin is on a real, personal quest and he is not afraid to turn over any stone to find "the grail." Let this book be an inclusive support to the monotheistic texts, in my opinion. Then, let yourself be the judge. Drive on, Mr. Sitchin. I'm just as eager as you.

Summary: Excellent Companion
Review: Waiting for Sitchin's new books, is like waiting for the next Episode of Star Wars. It just can't come soon enough. This is an excellent companion volume to the Earth Chronicle series and sheds additional light. The more you read, the more you ask; Are we more like the Anunnaki or are they more like us? Good book!

Summary: Mind-boggling! Paradigm-shattering! Indispensable!
Review: You've read the orthodox, conventional, sanitized view of the past. Now read linguist and scholar Zecharia Sitchin for the rest of the story. Only he provides a framework in which all becomes intelligible.
