Rating: Summary: Wildlife Sanctuary Garden Review: I found the Wildlife Sanctuary Garden very well written and informative. Many clear instructions on creating the perfect backyard garden for many different home styles. Great illustrations.
Rating: Summary: Terrific! Review: I love this book! The introduction starts with "Lessons from a Garden" and here the author tells of a forest near their home that they enjoyed for years that was bulldozed for "development." They then began rebuilding the habitat around their home and developed a sanctuary. I love the attention to the use of native plants, the discussion of soil (easy to understand, not too techy), and the specific chapters on things like attracting animals, benign pest control, and specific gardens/habitats that you can establish (wetlands included). Nice drawings that help pull things together and some color photos and B/W photos. The writing is wonderful! I highly recommend this one.

Rating: Summary: A how-to for the amateur or knowledgable gardener Review: This guide is useful whether you are just beginning to garden or have been gardening for years. Buchanan's suggestions for water gardens within the greater garden are brilliant and easy to follow and install. Her personal anectdotes add greatly to the pleasure of this book which is, incidentally, well-written and very readable.
