This quasi-text book on aquarium plants sets a whole new bar for aquarium and plant books and can fairly be called the first serious book on aquatic gardening.
I have never seen another aquarium book so universally quoted and cited by other writers as this one is. I expect that new generatons of aquatic plant books will follow in this style of peer-reviewed science and experience.
When they write aquatic plant books fifty years from now they will be citing Walstad.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Don't be FOOLED... Review: This book is nothing more than a scientific put-down of modern aquariums. Her instructions are exactly the opposite of common beliefs among what she calls "High-tech" aquaria; don't install light, don't prewash gravel, don't change water. Why? because everyone else does! She's basically saying you don't have to spend any money on filters, heaters, lights, etc. But for that you'll have to be a scientist and a naturalist. It's not practical and except for a few individuals that seem to be intrigued with ANY new thing, it's going to die among hobbyists fairly quickly.Don't waste your money.
