Rating: Summary: An excellent first-person account of HBV w/out the jargon Review: A well written, readable book authored by a patient turned expert. Finley Green's first person account of his experiences with HBV are honest and compelling. His style encourages the reader to take the often difficult journey from coping with the realization of infection to facing the day-to-day challenges that are ever-present when living with the virus.Finley Green's book is casual and open, replete with examples from his personal experiences. He speaks to the reader, not as an "expert" dictating what other patients should or should not do, but as a friend encouraging people to do what they can do to help themselves. A MUST READ for those living with HBV or interested in learning more about the virus.
Rating: Summary: FINALLY, patient friendly source on HBV Review: Whether you are newly diagnosed or have had hepatitis B for a long time, this book is an excellent source of reference and uncommon knowledge about a virus that is confusing to many patients as well as their doctors. More importantly, along with the easy to understand chapters on interpreting your test results and information on seeking treatment, the book is equally devoted to the everyday hurdles of coping with Hepatitis B as a chronic illness. Mr. Green gives a clear and realistic picture of what having Hepatitis B is really like and recognizes the need to be proactive as well as optimistic.

Rating: Summary: Can I rate it 5 stars plus? Review: Will's book has spared me many hours filtering information on the internet, several doctors appointments going through lists of questions, and a hard time managing my emotions. To me, hepatitis B is not a mysterious black box with a potential bomb inside anymore, I know what it's doing to my body (and my mind) and I know how to deal with it. This book covers ALL the aspects of someone's life that might be affected by this disease, it covers all the medical yada yada verylongwordsthatnooneunderstands that make you look smart when you talk about it and all the personal and social issues you will have along the way. In 5 words: I HIGHLY recommend this book!
