Review: I recently met Rachelle at a healthcare meeting and was fasinated after hearing she had written her book. As an owner of a "free" senior placement service, I was anxious to read it and see how else I could advise my clients on such tough matters as eldercare. The book is with me wherever I go. Over the holidays I found myself counseling my own family members on how to talk to their in-laws when they begin to notice the ever changing physical events in their lives. I've only started, so there is so much more to learn. In the meantime, I never open the book without a highlighter in hand. Many thanks Rachelle!

Summary: An extraordinary gift
Review: If you want to have everything at your fingertips regarding Eldercare, this is it. Dr. Zukerman's book is the most comprehsive, and sensitively written guide to helping us get through this very difficult time with our parents. I bought this for my sister-in-law who has been struggling with many of the issues addressed in the book and it's helped her tremendously. I wish that it had been out when I went through this with my parents.

This book is supportive and provides practical information for those facing many difficult situations. The anecdotes used in this book seemed like they came directly from my family's experience. Summary: Not too "mushy," Not too technical. It's just right
Review: There are a number of references in the eldercare space to choose from. Some are social service case study oriented and can be a little "mushy." Others are highly technical involving legal, financial and tax strategies. "Eldercare for Dummies," however, covers the full issues of aging landscape in an informative, easy-to-read and humorous format. I consider it a "must read" for my clients or for anyone facing the challenges of aging with a family member or loved one.

Review: This book is a terrific resource. Among other things, it helped me realize that my Mom does what they call "sundowning." She gets highly agitated and nervous between 3 and 7 each day. The suggestions in the book are keeping me calm and making the transition easier for my mom. This is a great book!

Whatever your loved ones' particular situation my be, there are chapters that will relate to your particular situation. The book deals with many questions and concerns that you either have or will soon have as your loved ones' situation continues to deteriorate. Additionally there are many resources ie, web sites and phone numbers for more in-depth information on a wide range of topics. The book covers every day situations that you never dealt with or thought about until sich time as you begin caring for your elder. The auhor has a way of communicating the informatin in a no nonsense style and you are left with a reassuring feeling that you are going about the care of your loved one in a positive manner. The book deals with many situations that will help the reader to cope with the next downward step. The book is well organized for easy reference to a particular situation. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is or will soon be caring for a loved one. A valuable resource that you will read and re-read with the changing health of your loved one.
