Rating: Summary: An excellent book for all weather fanatics! Review: I got "Storm Chaser" for Christmas in '97 and never put it down until I was done. The exciting detail and phenominal pictures of tornadoes, lightning, and hurricanes makes it a must.
Rating: Summary: Storm Chaser (review) Review: I got this book (by Warren Faidley),
as a Christmas gift from my sister.
I am amazed by the clarity and brilliant colours of the photos in this book.
My only regret is that it wasn't longer!
Rating: Summary: One man's dysfunctional relationship with gaseous violence Review: I grew up in the eastern United States, where hot summer days meant
cool rain, violent thunderstorms, and the exquisitely fresh smell of
ionized air; and fall meant the constant imminence of hurricanes
roaring up the coast. Not that I live in Washington State, where there are
maybe two thunderstorms a year, I find that, in the abstract, I actually miss these
meteorlogical threats. _Storm Chaser_ captures this feeling unlike
any book I have ever encountered. Beautiful, and recommended.
Rating: Summary: Storm Chaser, in persuit of untamed skies Review: I love this book, The stories of the chasers, in review, is awesome and the photographs are breath taking. The tornado shots are awesome and the lighting displays are gorgeous, It is a must read for all beginner chasers! Rating: Summary: A GREAT BOOK Review: I read this book back in 96 when it came out. I absolutely loved the book. I loved the color photos and the stories he shares. Oh and did anybody even mention the lightning strike? The one near the tank farm. He gives excellent detail on how he got the closest lighting shot ever recorded on film. From the spider bite to the wall climbing to get to the spot he took the picture. I recommend this book to anybody who is fasinated with severe weather and all of it's inner beauty. But also don't forget the beautiful calm pictures of nature also, i.e, rainbows, sunsets, and plain old clouds. They all have their place in the atmosphere.
Rating: Summary: Three words:I LOVED IT!!! Review: I read this book in a single day, in four whole hours in the freezing air-conditioned library. I was simply blown away by the really beautiful storm pictures and the excitement of storm chasing. Since I live in no-tornado and no-hurricane land, I cannot possibly feel the wonderful excitement of storm chasing in anyway but reading Storm Chaser! Thanks to Warren Faidley and company! I will buy the book--even though I've read it.
Rating: Summary: Good Book About Severe Weather Review: I think that the book was pretty good. It just needed to be a bit longer and have more tips at the end. But it teaches alot of stuff about weather for you future storm chasers (like me).
