Summary: Moving and thought provoking.
Review: This book moved me. Von Kreisler is a wonderful writer and she presents her ideas in such a balanced manner - with logic and feeling. I think the book positively challenges the reader to consider her thesis: that animals have a rudimentary moral sense, and that our own morality has evolved from it. Once people read this book, they'll never see animals in quite the same way again.

Summary: Von Kreisler's Written Another Wonderful Book!
Review: Von Kreisler does an excellent job of supporting the premise that animals are capable of actually choosing to be supportive and helpful to their human companions. This book should be required reading for anyone who is involved in animal lab experiments. There's a lot more humanity in animals then in humans.

Summary: Very touching!
Review: When I picked up this book, i.e., Beauty in the Beasts : True Stories of Animals Who Choose to Do Good by Kristin Von Kreisler, Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson , at my local library I thought that it would be sugar sweet. However, what I found was a heartfelt and touching collection of stories that prove that animals too have feelings; and not only basic feelings but complex once such as empathy and sympathy. Highly Recommended (especially for people whom love animals)(.
