Summary: Great identification guide!!
Review: This field guide to hundreds of cacti and globular species is one of the best yet. I bought this guide at a nursury selling numerous species. I have 4 in my collection now, and am in the process of identifying them. I have three in the Mammilaria genus, and one completely seperate from that category. This book has so many to choose from so that you will never run out of ID choices when you need them. When these cacti flower it will be a snap to put identification cards on them! Unfortunately for the Americans, these are foreign cacti and we may never see them in their natural habitat, but this book makes them look just as glorious as real life!!!

Review: This is a good encyclopedia of the globular species of cacti, but unfortuately, this is as far as it goes. The photos are good and precise. Another aspect to look at is that none of the column cactus are listed. Also, the measurements and expected size of the cactus plants are not detailed, so you just have to look and guess. I also wish that the measurements were in inches instead of the metric system. After all is said and done, this could be a good starting point for the very amateur cactus enthusiast!

I anxiously await full coverage of the cacti species.
