Rating: Summary: Are you worried about your parents? Your own aging? Review: A book everyone would benefit from reading. It's a MUST read. Not only are the issues well presented with clear and insightful facts, but thoughtful answers are presented - solutions we can all begin to pursue. I didn't realize, as educated as I am, that I knew so little about this issue. Great wake up call!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic glimpse of how aging is changing america! Review: A brilliant, easy to understand, clear-as-a-bell book that ought to send chills down the spine of any legislator or public leader who has failed to realize that the aging baby boomers will cause major social earthquakes.Not-to-be-missed read for any thinking American!
Rating: Summary: very insightful to the world ahead ---- Review: A real world insight to some of the issues every person especially those on the virge of becoming "old" will face --- and a chance to prepare for what's ahead. Very effectively presented by Dr. Dychwatwald.

Rating: Summary: Socialism at it's core Review: After reading this book at the insistence of a college I have come to the conclusion that this is nothing more than another attempt to force "lite" socialism down our throats with fear mongering. The good doctor is kind enough to scare people into believing in his utopian remedies. What ever happened to individual responsibility? This work was so self serving and liberal in its content that I wish I could give it a quarter of a star.
Rating: Summary: Nonfiction page-turner Review: Age Power is a compelling look at how our world will be forever changed by the aging of the enormously powerful boomer generation. I was particularly moved by the implications of the "age wave" on the lives of American families. How will millions of working Americans afford the simultaneous costs of funding their children's education, caring for elderly parents, and saving for their own retirement? Age Power is well worth the read for the chapter on the "caregiving crunch" alone, and Dr. Dychtwald's "financial wake-up call" includes invaluable tips on "age-proofing" your life. If you're looking for a thoughtful explanation of the greatest challenges we will face as individuals and as a society in the next century--as well as practical solutions--don't miss this book.

Rating: Summary: Very useful Review: As a sociologist, I have used Dr. Dychtwald's insightful analysis in the past. Age Power provided me with much more mental fodder! Sharp, witty and engaging - I highly recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: Insightful and Important Review: As our nation's health care policy is debated, Ken Dychtwald's book is critically important if we are to address the problems of the future and not just the politics of the moment. He offers those concerned with the process of meeting the needs of all Americans vital insights into our future and the alternatives we must face.
