Rating: Summary: A great read and makes sense scientifically Review: The Great Pyramid was a microwave power generator using earth's natural harmonic vibrations, according to the author. Because it sounded like such a far-out theory, I assumed it was going to be really 'new age fringy' and almost didn't even look through it. But to my surprise it was a great read and made sense scientifically. Also it fit into the Zachariah Sitchin theory about the Anunnaki of ancient Sumeria. Although I don't think he even mentions Sitchin. (However, Sitchin thinks the two large pyramids at Giza were mainly for landing 'beacons.') While he does mention Cayce, to the detriment of the book I felt. He does try to answer ALL the reasons for the structure and material and shapes, etc. as far as I could tell and I have read quite a bit about the Giza pyramids. Dunn has a background in precision machining and seems to know what he is talking about. If you have a science background you can really appreciate his theory. He also used numerous diagrams to illustrate his ideas which is what really attracted me to the book. I can't say Dunn's theory is true of course, but it is an interesting idea and another aspect to consider. I'd love to see an HONEST criticism of this theory from a qualified scientist. Not just the usual arrogant debunker that leaves out the facts that don't fit and twists others to make them fit. Dunn doesn't do this with his investigation.
Rating: Summary: A Definate MUST read Review: I bought this book during the middle of the week, but had to wait to the weekend to read it - then I couldn't put it down, and finished it in one session. My mind is still reeling from its implications - after everything I've read on Giza - Chris Dunn's theory and step-by-step analysis makes the most sense, and the only theory I've found where ALL the facts and evidence, both historical and the most current, point to a single plausible result.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This is easily one of the funniest books I've ever read, but I gave it two stars because it is well written. Yes, the pyramids as power plants to run all the tools used to cut the stones for the pyramids--well except the first pyramid--and of course operate the spaceships and the blenders and TV's etc. Or maybe they were only built to provide the resources needed to build pyramids which would then provide resources to build more pyramids. Please, there are a lot of fascinating aspects to Egyptian civilization--this isn't one of them.
Rating: Summary: Dunn shows irrevocable proof of high speed machining at Giza Review: Quite simply: There goes History as we once knew it! This book is, for its reverse engineering quality, a landmark work. Anyone negatively criticizing "The Giza Power Plant" simply has not read it. Dunn's speculations based on the conctete evidence notwithsatnding, this is a must read for anyone willing to learn.
Rating: Summary: A compelling case of reverse engineering indeed! Review: 90% of the book was quite solid, scientific literature. This is the first real attempt to apply truly rational tests as to the function and form of the Great Pyramid. This subject could definitely be expounded upon. A couple of weak points revolving around Cayce, magnetic elevation, stellar radiation, and laser transmission could have been shored up a bit more. What I would like to see is an incorporation of some of LaViolettes ideas about galactic superwaves and radiation bombardment into his part on the explosion and destruction of the various pyramids. Also, I would like to have heard more about the scientific communities reaction to magnetizing stone, and how realistic is. Have there been any tests? Why is it such a mystery? In general, an engaging read and refreshing when compared to all the other New Age hype.
Rating: Summary: Logical, well-researched, open-minded, "must read" material! Review: This well-presented information makes available the opportunity to explore the possibilities of advanced civilizations in pre-history. The evidence is staring us in the face if we just know what to look for. Mr. Dunn gives us facts supported by research, while stating that his theories are just that, and that he welcomes further research, debate, information and input. His book is refreshing and enlightening. His theory is plausible, well-supported, exciting and a welcome change to the implausible, unsupportable tomb theory. (I never did buy that one, anyway.)I wish Mr. Dunn the best in his on-going efforts, and recommend this book to all seekers of knowledge and truth. Although it is a bit technical, it is an easy read, and should open many eyes.
Rating: Summary: Sheer idiocy! Review: Wake up, people! The ancient Egyptians used slaves, not machines, to cut and polish stone. This hypothesis is utter nonsense.
Rating: Summary: Engaging, conscientious, and thoroughly Right On! Review: Fifty years experience as an accredited field egyptologist and archaeologist, combined with a lifetime of living and studying at the foot of the Pyramids of the Giza Plateau make it rare for my partner, internationally recognized Khemitian elder and Wisdom Keeper, Abd El Hakim Awyan, to get excited about reading a new book on the construction and true function of the Great Pyramid. Christopher Dunn¹s book, The Giza Power Plant, has proved an exception. To quote Hakim: ³Christopher Dunn has done a wonderful job of explaining the technical aspects of the Great Per Neter (Pyramid). Christopher is a man of strong mind and heart, and is a powerful voice for western ears. It is my sincere hope he continues his work, he is on the right track.² As for myself, I am not only impressed by the breadth and clarity of Christopher¹s work, I am RELIEVED that it exists. My specialized area of ³Khemitology² is primarily philosophical and spiritual; now when someone who is really serious about the mechanics of the Great Pyramid approaches me, I can joyfully direct them to Christopher Dunn and The Giza Power Plant. They'll be in great hands! -Abd El Hakim Awyan and Karena Bryan- International teachers of the Khemitian wisdom tradition and co-authors of the forthcoming book: Egypt and The Awakening- Insights of an Egyptian Adept.
Rating: Summary: If I had to read one book on the pyramids, this is the one! Review: I've read several books on the ancient pyramids of Egypt and this book rates very high on my list! Mr Dunn does an excellent job of explaining the mechinery of the great pyramid and his theory seems quite reasonable. I personally believe the pyramids were constructed either by Aliens or humans that had knowledge way beyond what science knows today. A "must read"!
Rating: Summary: An excellent analysis from an engineering point of view. Review: Mr Dunn's book offers a well thought out analysis of the function of the Great pyramid. Although his idea of the structure as being a power plant is speculative his observations concerning the extreme preciseness of its construction are well founded. His theory that the tools used for building this edifice could not have been the primitive copper type of that era but some type of highly advanced machine equipment is borne out by the evidence he presents. My only disagreement with Dunn's book is that I do not believe that the builders of the Giza Pyramid were from a highly advanced civilization from Earth.
