Summary: best sf ever!
Review: This is the best science and fantasy book ever written! Any reader will arrive to be persuaded it's written by a great scientist.Recommended for everybody and specially for sf readers! Hope for a film:The last Black-hole (Julia Roberts) of the last universe of any multiuniverse contact human scientists to save her soul! Hawking (Silvester Stallone that become how he is only when writing at the blackboard facing mathematichs troubles:imagine Hawking in armchair in front of blackboard he start handle comands and the audience see Stallone standing up and entering blackboard'corridor ,at his left he passes Pitagora's theorem demonstration made by a sweet to eat, than he has to combat a demonstration of primes infinity made in falling irons, deads mathematics lieing around this labyrint that is a complete visual mathematic course...) forget praising pope for saving her soul in Rome after he has loved her( discovering she has not hairs) and so universes start colapsing but at the end discovering the theory of everything ....finally everybody can understand! at the end Pope can marry them and news universes can springs again.

Summary: An excellent book in times to come.
Review: There are only a few good book who have treated subjects of cosmology and astronomy in so detail and curious way. This is one of them. It is both philosophical and scientific. It will send you into various loops of thought once you read it. I found it very exciting and almost spend days and weeks to think about several concepts it talked about.

Summary: I am 14 and I loved it and understood it!
Review: I loved it.I think Hawking explained things in a fairly easy way and I think it helped a lot.I like the way Hawking compared complicated matters to everyday events.

I only gave it 4 stars because I didn't understand evrything but it was very intresting. This was the first book I read about cosmology and I think reading this book first helped me beacuase it was so interesting and so fairly understandable.

Summary: The most fantastic physics book i have ever read!!!
Review: When I started to read this book i thought that this is science fiction book i am reading, so interesting it was. I finished it within three day without being able to stop. Stephen managed to answer almost all the fundamental questions i had asked myself before, in a very simple and interesting manner!

Keep on Stephen!

Summary: The joy of life!
Review: I think, this book must be read by all the people on earth, since the average person doesnt care to think if there was beginning of time or if there are boundries in space...When I was a child I used to look up the night sky and ask myself these questions but I didnt know then that there were books on these subjects! The joy I experienced when I was reading this book..I dont think I've got that in any other book and am sure I will not get that unique pleasure in any other book, ever!! I've read this book two times now and I plan to read it once more.

Hawking is one great genius and has a good sense of humor too. Its only after reading this book that I've felt how lucky I am to be born in this planet,in this century, as a human being and be able to read this book and realise the joy of life!

Thank you hawking!

Summary: Excellent book on new theories in science.
Review: This book presented new theories and discoveries on cosmology, space, and time in an interesting and fairly clear way. Imaginary time is difficult to understand. How it relates to "real" time and our universe is still unclear to me. Yet the book awakens the thrill of thinking about, exploring, and discovering more about the universe we live in.

Summary: A lucid explanation of complicated scientific information...
Review: After reading this book Stephen Hawking became a hero in my eyes. As a bored fifteen year old I was rummaging through my dad's books and came across an interesting looking (non-fiction!) book among hundreds of dusty old books. Intersted, I read the introduction to get a feel for the book before I continued on my search for some interesting reading material. Within the first pages of the book I was hooked. Over the next week and a half I gave up precious hours of sleep without a moment's hesitation. Never had such complicated scientific theory come so easily (not that I have done any extensive research...I am only a lowly freshman in highschool taking biology, my only introduction to Hawking's topics come from middle school science and any mention my dad has made to such subjects!) Only allowing myself to read one chapter before I went to sleep I finished the book all too soon. I recomend this book to any and everyone. Thought the topics are daunting Hawking does an amazing job making them comprehendable for even me!

Summary: If like you like to sit around and get bored, read this!
Review: Before I read this book my views on thermo-dynamics was clouded by bordom and the fact that I have things that arn't boring to do. They are still the same now. This book was so boring and droning that I thought I had slipped into a coma.

Summary: Poptastic
Review: A 'poptastic' book. Give it less than 5 starts and your missing the point. Whats the title "A brief history of time" - the bloke saying it should look more at telescopes and such practicle things is wrong. He needs a book like "A brief history of telescopes", open your eyes, open your mind and LEARN - its what life's about.

FANTSTIC

Summary: Hawking was off a bit
Review: The book in witch Mr Hawking says it will be possible to achieve a complete and correct theory for explaining the whole universe behavior. This theory, says Hawking in "Brief ..", will be able to explain even the origin of the own theory! Phisic laws will explain where the Phisic laws come from! Haven't the Genious of Stephen Hawking never heard about the Godel's Theorem? The book motive us to the search of the impossible Completeness and Soundness of a theory.
