Summary: Trail Guide to the Body - A practitioners manual.
Review: ...This is one of the best books on Anatomy that I have ever seen, from a massage therapy perspective, definately a keeper!...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: outstandingly easy to read, understand and put into practice
Review: As a bodyworker I find the preciseness of locating the noted landmarks shown in "Trailguide to the Body" give the novice as well as thel established massage therapist, osteopath, physical therapist, chiropractor or medical doctor an amazing ability to find, palpate and ultimately treat clients with a practical ease not commonly found in other texts.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book for the money!
Review: As an Instructors Assistant and an Advanced Practitioner of Therapeutic Massage, I've found this book a VERY useful reference and a compliment to class room and on site education.
The latest eddition has more color graphics, which is a welcome change from the drab 1st edition. (but either is sufficient)
I'm teaching a class in Therapeutic Massage myself, this comming semester, and am sure I'll recommend it to the students, and keep mine handy in class.
The details on how to locate and palpate the muscles are great!

Summary: Where was this book when I was in massage school??
Review: Finally someone has bridged the gap between dry anatomy textbooks and hands-on bodywork. "Trail Guide" is the next best thing to being able to see through the skin! Clear directions and illustrations enable bodyworkers to identify and locate both bony landmarks and muscles with precision. A must-have office reference for everyone who works with muscles.

Summary: Trail Guide to the Body: How to Locate Muscles, Bones...
Review: Finally, a palpatory anatomy book that speaks TO you instead of talking AT you! This is the kind of book that students put aside all other anatomy books for because it is a self teaching text. It directly teaches you how to become adept at feeling for and finding structures on the body. In the realm of being a manual therapist, the more you can teach your hands to "see", "feel", and know structures, the more skilled and effective you are. This book is excellent for those who want to be able to have confidence in doing this, and have fun learning anatomy!

Summary: Excellent reference
Review: I am a massage therapist and found this book very useful as a study aid for the national certification test for massage and bodywork. This book makes locating anatomical landmarks much easier. I also used the following which is on amazon:
The Ultimate Study Guide for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork: Key Review Questions and Answers
Vol 1 (ISBN: 0971999643), Vol 2 (ISBN: 0971999651), Vol 3 (ISBN: 097199966X)
These four books helped me pass the National Certification Test. The last three book were so on target with the type of questions asked on test.

Summary: A great map to follow through the body.
Review: I have had this book for many years now. It is a great tool for massage therapists to have when you need help on finding the origins of a problem area of your client's. It can also be helpful to use when you are studying kinesiology and anatomy. The book was published right after I gratduated and I can't tell you how I wish it was around before this. I did have the honor of having Andrew Biel as my instructor for many of my classes. For him to be able to convert his knowledge into such a great book was a great accomplishment. Five Stars!!

Summary: Do you need to practice palpation in musculoskeletal system?
Review: This book covers basic needs -for medical massage as well as physical therapy students education- in the learning procedure of palpation of the human body surface. Valuable and easy to memorize tips. Very good for direct use in the class. My recomendation for training "anatomy in vivo" for class in medical massage therapy. We will use it as a standard book in our school
