Rating: Summary: not bad...but certainly not the best Review: I actually liked Netter's atlas but although the paintings are nice you can't compare them to the ones in Pernkopf's atlas...Pernkopf is undoubtedly the No.1...the latter is much more expensive than Netters book though...If you want the best books for your medical studies, get Benninghoff (German only) or Gray's Anatomy and Pernkopf's Atlas...
Rating: Summary: Netters: Best Medical Atlas Review: I own all the medical atlases: Grant's, Netter's, McMinns and the rest. Grant only labelled every other structure, and McMinns was good for disection only. Of the lot, Netters beautiful and detailed paintings blow every other atlas out of the water. I own the paperback version, but I wish I would have bought the hardcover, only because I have used the Netter's so much, that the soft cover is starting to fray. Buy a Netter 2nd ed., put it next to your Gray's Anatomy 38th ed., and get set to soar to the top of your anatomy class.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This book is a MUST! for all med and allied health students. If you know Netter's you will know anatomy.
Rating: Summary: The Gross Anatomy Standard Review: Netter's is the ideal companion to the gross anatomy lab. There are numerous viewpoints presented through the drawings. Just about any situation you encounter in your cadaver is presented in Netter's with amazing clarity. Be sure to consider the accompanying CD-ROM Atlas. It has a custom test feature that is a great study aid for practical exams.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding even for non-medical readers Review: What a wonderful book. I am not a health-care professional -- just a layman -- but this book is positively captivating. I was able to use Dr. Netter's crystal-clear illustrations to understand a shoulder injury, and while there is virtually no descriptive text other than the labelling of the body parts (it's an atlas, not an anatomy book), there is much here to learn from. Every medical professional I've spoken with knows Dr. Frank Netter's work, and it's great that he now has a single volume available to the layman.
Rating: Summary: An invaluable aid and reference for medical education Review: As a Physician Assistant student Netter's anatomy is an invaluable aid in my education and a continual reference. I have used many reference anatomy books, but by far Netter is the most understandable and comparable to the real human body.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely wonderful and beautiful book Review: As a first year medical student, I am experiencing the "drinking from a fire hose" of information that everyone in school told me I would. This book is not only aesthetically very pleasing, but is a superb representation of what we see in lab. I truly could not handle gross anatomy without this book! Drs. Oberg and Netter deserve much applause!!!
Rating: Summary: THE NETTER'S BOOK IS PRACTICAL Review: The human antomy is amazing, and you can understanding with The Netter's atlas. It's necesary for the students of health.
