Rating: Summary: I Couldn't Put this Book Down Review: After not being able to put The Phoenix Lights down over the holiday weekend, I went directly to Amazon.com this morning to buy it as a gift for a number of my friends. When I read the mean-spirited and frankly incongruous review by Ken Wells I had to write this one. How could anyone, no matter how skeptical, not be impressed by what Dr. Lynne has accomplished in this wonderfully written book. Her dedication to detail, including never before seen personal photographs of the anomalous lights, the spiritual messages that permeate the book, and her ultimate wake-up call for humanity, that the reviewer obviously missed, make this a must read. This book is not only for those open to the positive potentials we possess as human beings - but even more importantly, for close-minded skeptics and dubunkers.
Rating: Summary: Out of This World! Review: As a first-hand observer with my entire family of 7, ranging in age from 6 to 60, I can tell you personally that Dr. Lynne's detailed account of the Phoenix Lights is impeccable and fascinating. Our still unexplained event seen throughout AZ on March 13, 1997 is just a fragment of the story. There is so much to learn and consider in this expertly researched book: the history of UFOs, similar global sightings that seem to be happening at a faster pace, credible quotes by presidents, military, scientists, pilots and even astronauts verifying these strange visitations, and the intriguing possibility of a connection between all unexplained phenomena. A new and re-freshing perspective to be sure. In addition, Dr. Lynne's heart-felt dedication to the facts permeates every page.
That being said, I was flabbergasted and dismayed when weeks after the mass statewide sighting, witnessed by thousands of other people who would agree with me that whatever these lights were - they were attached to "something" and quite extra ordinary - MUFON (a supposedly professional group of skywatchers) announced that what my entire family saw over our heads shortly before 10 p.m.(identical to what Dr. Lynne photographed that night, two months before, and very close to her mountainside home in 1995) were flares. Give me a break!
And give yourself the chance to read what a true skeptic discovered after experiencing and photographing something that is definitely "out of this world"!
Rating: Summary: Interesting - almost accurate - not the final answer! Review: Funny how everyone gets `on the bandwagon' after the fact. It was decisively documented that multiple witnesses observed a large `flying triangle' aircraft at may points between central Nevada (think the Top Secret Area 51) and Phoenix. The US Air Force scrambled jets to intercept the lights, no... no... flairs from a pseudo exercise. Seems the USAF changed their story twice, almost as bad as changing their story about Roswell three times. Anyway, Edgar Fouche and Brad Steiger wrote about the ultra top secret TR-3B flying triangle (Astra) in their best-selling `Alien Rapture.' Furthermore, Fouche gave presentations and lectures about the Magnetic Field Disruptor (gravity warping) propulsion, electro-chromatic stealth coating (ECM and stealth), and 3d Holographic projection defense systems. A holographic system that was `tested' over Phoenix. I saw him on the Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel, and the Rense site. Even the BBC Channel 4 and a German channel did a two hour interview/documentary about the Flying Triangle, Edgar Fouche, and the Phoenix Lights. So this is old news and a poor re-hash of the facts. I was stationed at Luke Air Force Base when the Phoenix Lights appeared. We had F-15 and F-16 fighter aircraft stationed there. The F-16s were scrambled to intercept the `lights.' I remember hearing from a buddy who was one of the NCOs in charge of debriefing pilots that night, that one pilot was near hysteria and had to be medicated at the base clinic. What they reported is still classified to this day. They reported a `massive' aircraft, shaped like a `Vicks cough drop' as they described it, which was at least 600 feet across. A vehicle that was there one second and gone the next. A vehicle that when approached caused all their avionics and navigation instruments to go crazy. The HUD (Heads-up display camera) camera caught it all on tape and it was all sent to Washington D.C. Guess we'll never see the tape on CNN. I'm a electronics engineer by trade, an avionics expert, I have a Top Secret clearance and have worked as a Defense Contractor for over 20 years. I am obsessed with the TR-3B, the Phoenix Lights (which I saw and my neighbor taped), and black program technology. So I admit I'm biased. This is an interesting read, but it's no `Alien Rapture,' nor near as revealing as the International UFO Congress and MUFON presentations by Fouche. I searched and read many, many web pages about Alien Rapture, and the author, Edgar Fouche, the TR-3B, the flying triangle; including; startfinish(put in the dot com.)biz/wise Click on links for Fouche and Flying Triangle. You will find his full presentation. I recommend this book, but I highly recommend `Alien Rapture' and `Unconventional Flying Objects,' by Dr. Paul Hill of NASA.
Rating: Summary: Phoenix Lights Rubbish Review: I am not going to comment on Dr. Lynne's previous sighting before March 13th 1997, but I did go to the first book signing promotion event which took place in Scottsdale, AZ. To my amazement, the MC for the event stated that most people in the UFO community believed that the 10:00 PM event was caused by military flares. That was an accurate statement. However, just days after the event, Dr. Lynne appeared on a popular radio program denouncing the military flare theory! A change of heart perhaps?
I am a trained MUFON investigator in the Phoenix area, and I can tell all of you that this book did not give fair treatment to the flare theory. The author totally dismissed it because she chose to. The real mystery here is the 8:00 PM event where a giant triangular shaped object moved over Phoenix. The photographs in this book are military flares. The author conveniently leaves out the fact that her sightings of these lights were in direct line of the military range where flares are routinely dumped in scheduled military exercises. In fact folks, Phoenix is surrounded by military bases that do an array of testing. But you will not get that information from this book.
This book is nothing but smoke and mirrors.
Rating: Summary: Waste of Space Review: I had high expectations for the book, a definitive account of the 1997 Phoenix Lights UFO case. The introduction, foreword, preface, and acknowledgements were a waste but then I got to Chapter 1 (two pages), which gives a brief overview of the sightings. From then on the book is a waste of paper and I am extremely disappointed I bought it. The author rambles on and on without going anywhere or arriving at a destination. She repeats information over and over and over. Her writing style is unprofessional and, quite frankly, plain boring. The last third of the book is a complete waste, just filler. This is a classic example of someone taking a good 2,000-3,000 word story and trying to stretch it into a book. It just doesn't work. Save your money and go to the library and read news accounts of the lights for free. Or you can find better information online, such as the Jeff Rense site.
Rating: Summary: It's About Time Review: I have followed the Phoenix Lights mystery for several years after having witnessed the strange lights myself on a visit to Arizona on March 13, 1997. I was thrilled when I saw that a new book had been written about it, especially from a witness who happened to be a medical doctor. Fortunately for me, what I discovered was an articulate account of a sincere and transforming personal journey, something I could actually relate to. The title of the book is right on. How comforting to know that I am NOT alone. I have had many questions myself that were answered beyond my expectation. I couldn't put the book down. Not to mention the photographs themselves. How incredible, yet credible, that Dr. Lynne had the forethought and dedication to document so much for us to consider, undeniable facts, not only in her written words, but in filming the Phoenix Lights on numerous occasion before and after the statewide incident. And now being brave enough to share them. Dr. Lynne is right on and she must know that she is not alone in her desire to get this out in the open, so the ridicule, secrecy and denial that have permeated the topic of the unexplained for far too long will take a giant step forward.
Rating: Summary: Compelling!! Review: I have never witnessed an unidentified flying object nor have I had a near death experience. In the past I have been fascinated with discussions of these kinds of phenomena, but my logical, engineering personality would rationalize that there must be some other explanation. At the urging of a fellow engineer I picked up this book. I had no preconceived notion of it's contents and had never heard of the Phoenix lights. Therefore, I did not know what to expect when I got into the book. What I didn't expect was a convincing, detailed account of one doctor's search to discover the truth of what she personally witnessed in the skies over Phoenix. It is apparent that Dr. Kitei was fearful that her own credibility would be tarnished if she let if be known that she believed there was "something out there". Her tenacity fascinated me. Although I can say that the end of the book certainly provided the icing on the cake, without the detailed accounts and repeated questioning of herself, I know that I wouldn't have been convinced. Having read this book, I feel I have been taken on a journey that has left me feeling there is so much more I need to know....we all need to know. It's very compelling. Thank you Dr. Kitei for pursuing your answers and enlightening me.

Rating: Summary: The Phoenix Lights Review: I suggest that everyone not only personally read this book but also pass it on to all those you care about. Let there be no mistake, this is NOT a book about UFO's. This is a spiritual book containing details of actual happenings. The purposeful attention to detail that Dr. Lynne portrays throughout the book is done to dispel any doubts in the minds of critics and skeptics. The Phoenix Lights were observed by thousands of people of all walks of life. Dr. Lynne Kitei not only witnessed these lights but had been documenting them for a couple of years through video and pictures. Her scientific training and personal reputation propelled her to investigate and keep investigating. Each step of the way she uncovered more. However, the documenting and uncovering are not the key message. The key message is that we are not alone and we are all here for a purpose. Read it, think about it, then pass it on. This message can positively impact our current world turmoil. As a Chief Finanacial Officer for a Fortune 500 Company I speak from the place of requiring proof. You can't find more proof than this.
