Rating: Summary: The best tool for weight loss Review: As a 51 year old man, I have spent the last 30 years watching my weight. Never having the tool to control my diet, I had never been very successful. The miracle of keeping a weight loss diary has been a 34 pound reduction. The Pocket Food and Exercise Diary is a compact booklet with weight loss and exercise tips. The ten week journal is helpful in tracking my weight loss progress. I am starting my third diary. The price is right and the diary's compact form is convenient. I received this book for my birthday along with this amazing new beverage as an alternative to coffee. Made from 100% soy that's organic, its absolutely delicious! It's caffeine-free and comes in 8 delicious flavors. Just google it under "s oyfee" to find it and you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: No worries weight loss Review: Fantastic habit maker. From 88 kgs to 81 kgs in 10 weeks, without trying too hard. Due to unforeseen circumstances I only kept 7 out of 10 weeks records, but the results are satisfactory. Bear in mind this is a process of habit making and continuous self-education about your health and fitness. This pocket diary helps us make and break habits and transform beer bellies into six packs. Starting the next diary now with new goals and new habits. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: I was dissappointed in the book! Review: Good deal for the price. However, the book is very small and hard to write in. It would be better if it was in a spiral bound book. I found it extemely hard to write in. Great concept, but lacking in the design of the book.
Rating: Summary: A definate must for dieters!!! Review: I always knew that food journals were important for a successful diet and this journal is the best! 10 weeks for you to record your exercise, measurements and food consumption as well as liquid intake which is often overlooked. It's inspiring and very easy to use. (Be sure you have a calorie book, like the one they suggest buying along with this one, so you don't have to worry about memorizing numbers when you get home or cook something on your own.) They have great tips in the front for a healthy lifestyle. Remember the word "diet" is not a giant undertaking-it's a word that describes the way you eat wheather it be a "healthy diet" or a "not-so-healthy diet". This book will help you realize what it is about your current "diet" that needs to be changed to make your "healthy diet" a part of your daily lifestyle for the rest of your life! Good Luck!!!
Rating: Summary: Helpful for munch-a-holics like me Review: I am a constant grazer...grazing on whatever food is in front of me. This book forced me to take a closer look at what I was eating for ten weeks. It was amazing how that changed my eating habits and made me more conscious of the choices I was making. It does take some time...about 20 to 30 minutes per day for the first week. That is spent dissecting what is in your food and figuring out the calories, fat, etc. I highly recommend buying the "Doctor's Pocket Calorie, Fat, & Carbohydrate Counter" to go with this book...it will make your life easier if you are truly serious about eating better.
Rating: Summary: Great way to keep track of your food intake for weight loss! Review: I have been using this book for about a month now. The page layout is quick and easy to use. The size is extremely convienient, making it easy to carry in a purse or pocket.
Rating: Summary: Essential for every serious dieter! Review: I have found using Allan's Food and Exercise Diary, along with his fat and calorie counter book, to be incredibly helpful in losing weight and getting in shape. Anyone who is serious about wanting to lose weight, whether it be 5 lbs or 100 lbs, absolutely must keep a food diary. I have tried to lose weight for years unsuccessfully. I recently started keeping this food diary every day, and so far I have lost 10 lbs! It has a very easy-to-use format, and has a section of tips. It allows you to track your progress. It is small enough for me to carry in my purse, so I never miss a beat. It really helps me feel in control while I'm dieting. Along with enough daily exercise, keeping a food diary is absolutely the way to go. I have raved about this book as well as the Fat and Calorie counter to my friends, several of whom want to get it now! I can't emphasize enough how much help it has been in losing weight. I finally feel like I CAN do it! And you can too!!
Rating: Summary: Love it! Review: I love this book. Its small easy to cary and easy to use. The hard part is just remebering to write down everything that you should. :o)
Rating: Summary: This Book Works Review: I used this book about 5 years ago - it really worked. I lost 37 pounds in a year. I followed the recommendations and kept the food log every single day. It changed my life. I have kept within 5 pounds of my lowest weight ever since. I exercised and drank lots of water - now I am a different person and run 3 marathons and 3 half marathons each year. Thanks Allan!! Linda
Rating: Summary: 27 lbs and counting!! Review: I'm recommending this book to everyone I talk with that is interested in how I lost 27 lbs! Keeping a daily log is the ONLY way to go! It not only keeps you honest, but educates you on exactly how much you eat and of what. You learn how to eat low density foods in place of high density foods in order to meet your daily and weekly goals. The days are summarized into weekly averages and this helps keep you focused on a daily average of calories. If you eat a bit too much one day, you know you have the next day to eat a bit less, in order to keep your weekly average down. My goal is to loose 30 lbs and I only have 3 left to go...thought I would never see this day! The book doesn't cost much...go ahead and buy it and start loosing weight! Good Luck!
