Summary: FANTASTIC TEACHING ABILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: THIS BOOK (AND ALL OF KENN AMDAHL'S AND JIM LOATS' BOOKS) ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST THAT YOU COULD EVER HOPE FOR. THE OTHER REVIEWERS HAVE SAID IT BETTER THAN I. THIS BOOK SHOULD RECEIVE '10' STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Fascinating
Review: This book is great. After reading it, I became proficient in electrical jargon and basic electricity. I can understand schematics and I know the differance between alternating and direct current. Every once in a while, I casually slip in a tidbit of information and amaze people. I recommend you read this book.

Summary: Learning Electricity Through Story-Telling
Review: This book is very cleverly written. It's the learning of physics concepts through story-telling and it's very effective. When I was trying to understand one of the ideas of inductance, my mind immediately "grabbed for" the Greenies surfing analogy, and it helped immensely. This is sort of like mnemonics for physics.

Summary: Totally cool intro to electronics!!
Review: This is an excellent introduction into the weird world of electronics! Presents the concepts of electron behavior in terms of human behavior (urge to go party rather than boring old attraction/repulsion due to +/- charge) when explaining simple circuits. Very witty, and hard to put down , especially when comparing this book to Horowitz/Hill's Art of Electronics (a good book in it's own right, but if you had your own choice between watching Under Seige II for the 1000th time on HBO, reading Art of Electronics, and reading There Are No Electrons, I guarantee you'll enjoy reading TANE much more than the other two options!) Wonderful resource for those who want to learn more about electronics (or are forced to!)

Summary: Want your non-tech significant other to understand you?
Review: When I first bought this book several years ago, I loaned it to my non-tech girlfriend. After she read it, we could have intelligent conversations about my engineering classes, although to the unread outsider, it may have seemed like we were talking about breakdancing chickens...

Read this book.
