Page after page of captivating images trasport you to far away lands and bring you up close and personal with your favorite wild animals and many you have never seen before. The quality of their work speaks to their commitment and dedication. This book is for animal lovers AND for anyone who is the least bit interested in some truly mind-bending photography. This book is to be treasured and is one of two books (both by Lanting) on my coffee table.

Summary: A must for any nature enthusiast
Review: Mr. Lanting depicts the intimate details of life to some of the most magnificent creatures in the world through his lens. His photos capture everything from the intensity of a crocodile's stare to the unconditional love of a mother and her offspring. The book is layed out in three sections of animals in different aspects of their life: as individuals, as part of a larger group of conspecifics, and interacting with the opposite sex in mating rituals. A pure gem!

Review: One of the best wild life photographers, Lanting sumarizes in this book 20 years of his experience. The result is astonishing! Besides, he is an example of someone that followed his dreams: he started as a photographer after he completed his PhD in Economics! An example to us all.

Review: One of the very few books available which takes wildlife photography beyond the boring and obligate pictures of 'lion at hunt' and 'crocodile eats antilope'. Frans Lanting is able to reveil character and emotion within an animal like no other photographer is. An absolute must have! Your book collection wouldn't be complete without it.

Review: The subject is not only the animals, but also life. Attitude is all, from cover to cover. By far the best book I've ever seen on the subject, where you can feel a relationship between Lanting and the animal. Just buy it !
