Summary: Doubilet -- The Underwater Picasso
Review: After flipping through the book once, I was stunned at Doubilet's ability to capture the art that abounds under the sea. I've seen many of the images in National Geographic, but I've never lingered over them like I do in this book. Although the sea is filled with light and shadow and color, I think his most stunning photos are in black and white. They capture an almost etherial emotion and reduce the images to simple forms of light and contrast. I feel that this is Doubilet's Magnum Opus, and perhaps solidifies his position as the great underwater photographer of our time. Buy the book, study the photos, read the captions and dream of diving in some of the most beautiful places on earth.

Summary: The Best of Doubilet
Review: Arguably the best underwater photographer, Doubilet's pictures are always stunningly beautiful. There's always that little something which sets his pictures apart everyone else's. If you like Doubilet's works this book is a must buy. It is a collection of most if not all of his best shots.

Summary: The most beautiful underwater images I have seen.
Review: As a diver I am amazed with the sights of the underwater world. This book takes some of these images and creates meaning. It might be beauty, danger or mystery, but it is not just a picture.

Summary: Superb book!
Review: David Doubilet's book instantly transforms you into an armchair diver the moment you flip open this coffee table book. Pictures wonderfully taken. I especially like the black and white photos. A must have book for collectors.

Summary: The Greatness of photographing
Review: David Doubliet represents to us a unique artistic masterpiece of under sea world, which Ican not ever seen its like before. It is superior to Norbert book, SPLendors of the Seas. which represents three-dimensioned photos and exciting photos.

These photos look like artistic works traced by aCamera. Each photo is considered a masterpiece. You will take a long time to travel through its details and deepness. Later you will get something from sea life wonders, beauty, and tranquility.

These factors inspire man to understand this splendid sea world and take him or her away from noisy life and polluted environment.

All photos including black and white ones are of vital value to under sea photographing . I also consider Debubilet one of the best sea life photographers.

Summary: It`s wonderfull
Review: I am owning a few incredible nature photography books and this one is the best and most beautifull I`ve read so far. The text is reduced for the many photographs in the books and the title is really perfect. This one differs much from his first book,Light in the Seam, which I also own. This one is much bigger and even more artistic. When I first received it for Christmas,I was as happy as I could ever be for a book. It had more than I expected. Among my favorite photographs are the stingrays of the caribbean, the waters of Tasmania and the absolutley wonderfull coral reefs. It made me see the animal world from a different view. Personally,I can almost not understand how he capture all this on his images. It is not only enjoyable to look at - it is also very inspiring with it`s images of the monsters in the deep as well as the coral reefs. It is a truly memorable book that you don`t have to be a fish freak like me to love. It can be recommended to anyone that loves nature photography or just the beauty of the book. The price is high, but believe me,it is worth it. This book makes the perfect gift and I highly recommend it for Christmas or birthday. I have still not read the book Living Planet, but I believe it is least as fantastic - if Doubilet has been inside a project, you can always expect at least one good part of them.

Summary: Not just a book for your coffee table...
Review: I confess: I love photography and I love diving. I guess it's not the most original combination, but that's what led me to David Doubilet's work.

This book, along with 'Light in the Sea' (which unfortunately happens to be out of print) show an incredible sample of some of the most beautiful photographies, where he demonstrates his handle on this most complicated medium, such as the sea is, by generating trully breathtaking pictures.

Summary: Genius
Review: I had unknowingly admired Doubilet's work in many National Geographic articles over the years. The recent Great White cover photo was fantastic although a little untimely as it had to be hidden from my girlfriend who I was going diving with for 2 weeks a month later.

I was proud of a few photos I took on that holiday but when I saw this book I almost threw my camera away. Doubilet takes underwater photography to another level altogether. This book displays Doubilet's talent and dedication to the full with a diverse portfolio taken over many years from all over the world. The light in his trademark above & below water photo's is so perfectly balanced my friends assumed it was manipulated.

Buy this book for anyone who appreciates natural beauty. My Mother and girlfriend were first on my list and just as impressed.

Summary: Absolutely unreal photography
Review: Simply: I've never seen work like this in my life

Summary: An adventure all on its own
Review: The pictures are amazing. You feel like you are diving with Doubilet only he lets you see things that you may never find on your own. I would definately recommend this book to anyone!!
