Summary: too many unpleasant characters
Review: Not as good as later book, More than Allies, or earlier Gringa, because there are too many unsympathetic characters, including the main character. Too many characters in general for a short novel, but great attention to detail and a nice change from the usual sappy look at the fifties

Review: Walking Dunes is a true story. I lived next door to "David" as a child. I don't remember Sandra Scofield but she had to have been there. This book captures life in West Texas like no other.
