Rating: Summary: Beautifully written Time Travel with a lot of Spice! Review: A PLACE IN TIME by Tambra Vertrees
A PLACE IN TIME is a beautifully written time travel experience, when Callie Donovan fakes her own death to escape an abusive marriage. The heroine beaten down for the very last time; finds her strength and confidence when she slips through time one hundred years in the past to her destined place in time. You will be taken back to notorious Tombstone, Arizona and meet a crime-fighting, sexy-as-sin lawman, Black Jack MacCafferty, two adorable teenagers, a feisty `lady of the night,' the town's greedy busybody, and other well developed secondary characters. A Place in Time mixes the past and present in a realistic manner and has enough plot twists and surprises to keep you turning the pages. The humor that ensues when Callie retains her modern day "liberated woman" thinking in this time period provides the comedy. I especially enjoyed the hero's antics when he follows his love to the future. Through his eyes and point of view we see how someone from the past can be shocked with what the future holds for society. Ms. Vertrees' vivid descriptions of Tombstone's historical landmarks made this book not only an enjoyable read, but will give the reader the desire to visit this town. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it to the reader that wants some suspense, mystery, humor and a good dose of sensuality in their romance.
