Rating: Summary: Comprehensive reference tool for readers of romance novels. Review: "Romantic Hearts" is a must-have for romance readers with the NEED to read, collect or research their favorite romance authors. Jaegly's work is divided into three sections. It gives brief bio's and photos of many popular romance authors, lists their many pseudonyms, and cross-references their work under their various names. If you have a favorite romance author, you can find out if he or she has written under any other names. You can then check for the titles written under each individual pseudonym. There are some detractions. Titles written after the copyright date, of course, can not be researched, but I am sure updated editions will become available. Also, there are some inconsistencies in listing story titles and/or anthology titles. Both story title and the anthology in which it appears are not listed; you may find one or the other. This makes it hard to locate a particular title. In addition, on those authors I researched, I noted the omission of several early titles from their cumulative lists that I had records of having read. But, on the whole, the pros out weighed the cons and I found this book to be a very good reference tool. It increased my "TO READ" list by several pages! I highly recommend this title.
Rating: Summary: Romance 101 Review: An author/title index of more than 10,000 titles, mostly from paperback series romances. Also profiles 75 authors. Includes books generally not covered elsewhere, such as Harlequins and Silhouettes. Recommended.
