Review: Ms Hall has combined the highest elements of "Romantic" sophistication with true historic accuracy thus drawing the reader into an ever whirling cycle of passion and suspense. Her imminently readable style allows for a comfortable pace of literary digestion as the reader suddenly finds himself immersed in an ever escalating cycle of tension and repose that begs for more and more, day after day. Ms Hall has transcended the normal paradigms of the Romantic novel and has struck out on a path hitherto unexplored by her peers. Syntax, style, expertise. All are present in this newly discovered writer. I found great pleasure in the historical accuracy combined with the fleeting narrative that created new literary horizons for this reader. Ms. Hall has the uncanny knack of delivering a story that is complete in content yet still allowing the reader's imagination to have room to wander on its own path at the same time. This is a technique that reminds one of the great Russian masters of the eighteenth century as well as maintaining a sense of historical perspective. I look forward with great anticipation to discovering more of the worlds that Ms Hall will conjure in the years to come.
