Rating: Summary: THE BEST OF BROWNING'S BECKETT SERIES! Review: A murder, a mystery, lots of humour, and the undiluted animal magnetism between Carson Beckett and indepenent Kit Chandler Dixon make this book difficult to put down after just one chapter. I didn't read long before both Carson & Kit were fully-fleshed 3 dimensional characters. Colorful, artistic Kit, with her lovely Ladybug (VW) and red hair settles into a quiet life on the intercoastal waterfront, writing and illustrating children's books. Carson Beckett, a detective recovering from injuries, uses his time off to travel to NC to find the remaining Chandler heir and settle a generations-old debt. When Kit witnesses a murder, her life is tossed upside-down and an encounter with Beckett grows into an unexpected, unavoidable romance. I enjoyed this book.
Rating: Summary: Storyline info Review: Police detective Carson Beckett had skirted the altar as smoothly as a sly criminal avoided handcuffs. Now the time had come to settle down and fulfill his ailing mother's wish - and he was halfway there with an unofficial promise to wed his childhood sweetheart. But first he had to repay an old family debt to the last of the Chandler heirs. When his search led him to the gray-eyed, mesmerizing Kit Chandler, his usual logic deserted him. Instinctively, he changed from benefactor to protector when Kit became the target of someone else's wrath. And when tension turned to passion, Carson realized he was in deep. He would get to the altar, but with whom?
Rating: Summary: Another Winner from Dixie Browning Review: This book definitely stands alone. It's got everything--family relationships, jazzy dialog, sex, and humor that borders on the slapstick, but it never quite goes over the line. The characters, even the bit players, come alive and you're with them every step of the way. In a word, I'd call Beckett's Convenient Bride terrific!
