Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best of the Cynsters
Review: ...Having read all the books in the Cynster series, this is my favorite. "Devil" was great but Alathea is by far my favorite female in the series. Some of the books in this series are weaker than others, especially the ones about Amanda and Amelia. Neither girl came across as anything but a "girl" whereas most of the lead female characters in the rest of the series were smart, strong women. The males, of course, were perfect and I want one for me.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Comparable to the other Cynster books
Review: I think 3 1/2 stars is closer to the mark. There is a glaring inaccuracy that runs throughout this book. The female lead was born of the union of her father's first marriage. All of her brothers and sisters were born of his marriage with his second wife. To my mind this makes them her half-siblings, but they are always referred to as her step-siblings. I know this is relatively minor, but it annoyed me every time I had to read "step-brother" or "step-sister".

Otherwise, the female lead only does one or two supremely stupid things. The male lead is (as usual with this author) the best character in the book.
