Summary: Don't be fooled
Review: Don't let the premise of the story or the other reviews fool you: this is a deeply flawed book on several levels. First and foremost, the story is boring and slow. To compound the problem, the characters are one-dimensional types instead of fully rounded people you can relate to. Finally, the poor grammar and punctuation spoil any residual pleasure you may be able to find.

The book spends the first forty to fifty pages meandering around in almost a space-filling way - we learn a lot about the fact that Rhiana has lots of friends who love her. Why? Probably because if we weren't told that, we wouldn't be able to tell that she was a decent human being.

Our heroine, Rhiana, broke up with her ex-boyfriend because he wasn't masculine enough for her. Nevertheless, she puts up with the fact that he continually breaks into her house because, well, she doesn't want to deal with it. She's described as a savvy business woman, a mover and shaker in the world of mergers and high finance. Nevertheless, when a dead body is found in her apartment and she's questioned at the police station and told to get a lawyer, she doesn't. Why? Well, her lawyer was out of town and she didn't want to talk to her lawyer's associate attorney. What! Any rational person under suspicion of murder wouldn't simply have given up - she would explain enough of the situation to get her lawyer back in town or on the phone! Our hero, on the other hand, kidnaps her, ties her up, and watches stoicly as his partner slaps her around. Well, he felt really badly about it. I mean, REALLY badly.

As if that weren't enough, the writing is truly juvenile. This may be just poor editing, but frequently, the wrong word is chosen ("they met under the worse of circumstances"). Commas are missing; sentences run together. It gives the impression that the author cranked this out under pressure. She used the thesaurus frequently but didn't bother to make sure that the words she chose were right (at one point, a character speaks poignantly, when in fact he probably spoke sharply).

Overall, the plot is slow and meandering, the characters are flat and uninteresting, and the writing is comparable to a draft rather than the final version. Save your money and watch the movie on TV. It will take you less time and may be more satisfying.

One last thing: no, I haven't finished the book. I am halfway through. I may actually finish it because it's so bad. It's amazing to me that a book this seriously flawed could get published. It's almost like a traffic accident now: I don't want to look anymore but I feel compelled. But to the drivers behind me: really, there's nothing to see. Move on, my friends. Move on.

Summary: An intriguing murder mystery suspenseful romance
Review: Here's another story that I would love to see made for a movie. This is a different but great romance story that would make an excellent movie. Finding a dead body in the spare bedroom of your home, not knowing who to trust, being kidnapped, and falling for the person that kidnapped you? Riana goes through all this and finds out how much her sister hates her. Now that's a handful! Not to mention, she finally takes part in looking for the infamous treasure. Be sure to add this one to your MRL(Must Read List)

Summary: author has great style;fun book;good;intimacy & love obvious
Review: I like the author's writing style; it is a good storyline of a kidnapping for treasure; unique & interesting; great character depicitions; lovely cover by Arabesque; one of the better Arabesque writers because her style is different, fun, and not so typical as others. Highly recommended and interested in other books by the author (if any).
