Summary: Good story marred by poor editing
Review: This book could have benefited from a good copy editor: run-on sentences abound, and in other places, much-needed commas are conspicuously absent, muddying many otherwise elegantly framed sentences. More troubling still is Ms. Clitheroe's misuse of her hero's title. (He should be Augustin Vance, earl of Brewell or Lord Brewell, NEVER Lord Augustin or Lord Vance!) Fortunately, an engaging heroine, an attractive hero, and a lively plot go a long way toward making amends, rendering the book an enjoyable read in spite of its technical flaws.
