Rating: Summary: Dreadful! Review: Completely derivative of Ayn Rand, without the excuse of originality. Lost me after the first 8 paragraphs.
Rating: Summary: Ahem...[imitation]...ahem Review: I've heard it said that the best compliment that one can pay is mimicking. I suppose we can say then that Gulbraa likes Ayn Rand a lot. Unfortunately, this doesn't tell us much about his fiction, which is more than derivative. It borders on plagiarism. Objectivists wonder why they can't get published these days, and tend to blame a vast left-wing conspiracy. More likely, it's because they do Rand all over again and manage to lose a lot in the translation. Terrible book, terrible writer.
Rating: Summary: Ahem...[imitation]...ahem Review: This is the first work of David Gulbraa's that I've read, and I am looking forward to his next novel. I cannot remember when I've read a more uplifting and exciting story. From the first to the last page, I could not put the book down. Upon completion, I felt more alive. I recommend this book to anyone who either sees, or wants to see, life as worth living.
