Review: It was predicted long ago that Jonathan Zadok, a Middle Eastern man from Loran, and Penny Andrews, an American writer, would meet. Jonathan has read everything Penny has written and fallen hopelessly in love with her; but their worlds seemed so far apart. Then fate intervenes, while a guest in the fortress of King Jihad of Horab, Jonathan's men accidentally kidnap Penny and she becomes his prisoner. Beth Ann Erickson is a master at highlighting a detail to lead the readers thinking astray, making them comfortable in what they perceive, and then blasting them with a fresh twist followed by a sharp turn. The Almachs unpredictability heightens the romantic tension between the cross-cultural lovers with love scenes hot enough to melt the sand! A highly recommended read!
