Rating: Summary: I was very surprised that I was pulled into this story. Review: I had never read a romance novel before. A friend suggested that I give this book a read. I was somewhat cynical about a romance novel, but I was really surprised that I was pulled right into the characters and their lives. At one point I actually cried. This was a surprisingly good read and fun. I recommend it and I am not a woman.
Rating: Summary: A pleasurable reading experience Review: In this romantic tale, set in a tiny, picturesque Carribean Island, author Layle Giusto matches an African American dancer with an handsome, powerful islander. Jock Faucon is the type of man who brings out the sensual side of a woman. The popular ritual of traveling to the islands to have a romantic "fling" is enticing when you read this novel. Laurie Warner, the story's central character is struggling with her overwhelming feelings about Jock, who has "pledged not to marry" among other committments. In this "first novel", Giusto takes the reader along on a romantic adventure that is difficult if not impossible to put down. Packed with passion and raw emotion, I read this book on a Saturday and eventually cancelled my plans to go shopping. I strongly suggest that you read this title, if you really love a "true romance".
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL!!!! Review: THIS BOOK IS GREAT!I FELT LIKE I WAS THERE AND KNEW THE CHARACTERS. IT WAS VERY DESCRIPTIVE AND SEDUCTIVE. I HAD A HARD TIME PUTTING THE BOOK DOWN. MS. GUISTO IS VERY TALENTED AND I HOPE SHE WILL CONTINUE TO ENTERTAIN US WITH WONDERFUL ROMANCE NOVELS ABOUT AFRICAN AMERICANS.
