Rating: Summary: Not my kind of hero! Review: Dear readers, I don't have a problem reading about slavery in a romance novel. It was a part of our history, albeit, a very horrible, and disturbing part. It was the way of life for many countries, and unfortunate people of that era. However, if an author choses to write about slavery, the hero, and heroine should automatically be against it. How could an author write about a romance hero that actually believed that slavery was ok? I don't want to read about a hero like that. I don't want to read about a hero, who the heroine has to persuade into believing that slavery was wrong! Could'nt Reese figure this out by himself years ago, when he became a grown man? A real hero would know that slavery was wrong on his own! How was I soppose to find this guy attractive? The last straw was when Patience told Reese that a pregnant slave was working in his plantation field, and he did nothing to help the woman! Therefore, I could not finish reading this book. I don't care if Reese changes in the end, by then, I would have hated him through out the whole book! This hero was certainly not a hero of mine!
Rating: Summary: This book is OK if your a beginer Review: New romance readers (or older teenagers) will love this book because it is an easy book to read. Unfortunately, as a long time reader of romance novels this one just didn't make the grade. The characters should have been developed further. Even the main character's features lack suffient description. Overall the plot did not drag out and the book was fast paced.
