Summary: Excellent Selection
Review: "All The Right Men" is an excellent book. Get comfortable because it is hard to put down. If you had more than one long-term relationship you can relate to this best-seller book.

Summary: Pure Torture!
Review: I did not enjoy this book. With all the spelling and grammatical errors I found it difficult to follow. The author couldn't decide if the story should have been written as herself or Betty and it was evident throughout the book where there were references to both "I" and "Betty". I felt the synopsis of the book written by the author was misleading and a stretch. It wasn't spiritual, funny or educational. I didn't see any positive resolution to any of the issues presented. It didn't inspire me in any way as the author said it would. Betty didn't seem to learn from her mistakes.

On another note, I had the pleasure of meeting the author and she's very down to earth and very accepting of criticism. I give Michelle credit for publishing her own book when others told her no.

Summary: Very moving, a story we can all relate to...
Review: I met Michelle back in the '80's when I was searching for a hairdresser who could tame my Innovations curl. While sitting in her chair or with the phone dangling from our ears, she'd replay these incredible life stories, and we'd laugh, and many times cry, together. Stories about the men she'd met and the children she was raising (or who thought they were raising her!). She'd always end with, "Girl, I should write a book!" Well, I was fortunate enough to read the preview chapters and couldn't believe that this lady who always had a smile to share could have survived through some of the most trying times and funniest adventures. Her story is like the lady next door. She's been through some "stuff" and we'll all see our lives entwined in "All the Right Men."

Summary: Must Read
Review: I read this book years ago. Despite the grammatical errors, the book was a hit. I would highly recommend it. If you enjoy reading, you will be able to get around the errors.

Summary: Five Hearty STARS
Review: I really enjoyed the book. I thought the writing style was innovative--It was easy to keep up with. The introspection was RIGHT ON TIME and carried me over any of my 'HUH?' spots. I was very entertained. I am looking forward to starting the sequel. Ms. Stevens has a very comfortable style of writing that shows ease, class and sophistication--it says I KNOW WHO I AM AND WHAT I WANT TO SAY! HEY LADY!! YOUR CONFIDENCE IS SHOWING!!! (smile) I want to add--YOU GO GURL!

Summary: On the yellow brick road to stardom!!!
Review: I thought this book was exciting, hysterical, startling and had me on the edge of my seat. Being a white single parent, I could relate to many of Betty's trials and tribulations. I caught on fairly well to the African American lingo and thanked God that I had not been raised in the hood. I have read her new book, "I Found the Right Man" and it is as good if not better than the first. Looking forward to her next book and many more after that, I hope.

Summary: Pure Torture!
Review: It was almost impossible to read this book!! It is full of spelling and grammatical errors, changes in characters and/or personalities in the same sentence/paragraph. I felt as if the author had a pretty decent story but got lost in too many details; which prevented the story of "Betty" from moving along smoothly. Throughout, the author boldly interjects her comments on the story, which broke my focus plus I didn't care about her opinions (as the author), just tell the story!! The synopis on the back is misleading, I was not inspired or educated at all. ....

Mrs. Stevens is open to the criticisms and the opinions of her readers and has a down-to-earth personality (I recently met her). I hope that while working on the third book in this trilogy, she will incorporate some of the suggestions on how to improve as a writer.

Summary: All the Right Men
Review: This book is definitely a winner! While reading this book, it will make you laugh and do a reality check at the same time. You can relate to this book because either yourself or someone you know is going through these same doors of trials and tribulations in the relationship world. The characters are well portrayed in the book and are easy to follow along. I am now on the sequel "I Found the Right Man." I will give you a review on this when I am done. I would like to sum my review up with this quote: All the Right Men deserves five applaudes and a standing ovation:)
